can someone help me. I can't get the lemon to stay under the thing by the temple door to get the juice, and I assume that is why I can't find the lower blue triangle in the control room to open the transporter? My ibook says 'just do it,' but I CAN'T. HELP

Is the door open? The press raises up when the door is open and lowers down when the door closes.

i open the door, zoom in on the space to put the lemon, but by the time I get the lemon from inventory, the door closes. If I do not zoom in, the lemon flips back into inventory - can I just skip this, and then where do I find the lower blue triangle gizmo in the control room to open the transporter?

You would need the lemon juice later in the game - so you cannot skip it. It's timimg.

Blue triangle gizmo - Go forward to the console, then turn left to look at the left side of the console.

I give up. I can neither get the lemon juice nor find the bottom blue triangle -- back to marking essays; my ibook and I will remain not speaking to each other.

Did you get your lemon from outside the temple? Open the door, put the lemon in the space to the right of the door. The door will close on its own in a minute. (I think you have to stay put until it does.) Pick up the lemon juice.

In the control room, you have to pick up the knowledge chip and the fuel cell aggregate from the floor to the left of the console. Go back to the temple and put the fuel cell on the sealing valve on the left side of the room. Go back to the control room and go up to the console. Flip the switch on the left, then turn left and push the bottom blue triangle. The transporter should work using the Cl module.

yes I got the lemon from outside, and then I open the door, put the lemon in the space, and zilch!! the lemon springs back into inventory. In the help file that comes with the disk, re the control room, they say "use the switch at the control board of the oil derrick." What oil derrick???

Check these things before you try the lemon. (One might be a trigger to allow you to do it.)
As you were coming up the stairs from the cave, did you turn on the rusty water valve?
In the temple, did you pick up the distilled water and transporter module Cl?

In the control room (the building opposite the temple), did you flip the switch on the center console? If I remember correctly, something lights up (the transport track?). The blue triangle is either on the console itself or on the wall. I can picture the room, but can't remember exactly where.

Minstrum, I had a problem with the lemon, too, and it turned out to be a matter of timing and clicking in the right spot. If you click to the center of the space where the lemon goes, you can get it in there, if elsewhere it just goes back to inventory. It took me about 20 tries, maybe more, before I gave up and asked my more coordinated partner to do it.

Of course, he got it in one!
