I liked Yesterday a lot, and I would (tentatively) recommend it, as long as you keep some things in mind. I think it had the most interesting premise of all of their games, yet it turned out to be my least favorite. As you said, it's very short, and I feel as though a lot of the story and backstory of the main character could have been expanded on. There are also no voiced descriptions when looking at objects or points of interest in the environment. I got used to this after The Cat Lady, but it was a bit odd at first. Also, characters "teleport" to places and objects of interest rather than walking there. All of these things are most likely due to budget issues, but the game they were able to make is still very interesting. Since there is a sequel in the works, it would probably be a good idea to play the original, although I believe the description for the new game mentions that it is not necessary to have played the original to enjoy the new game. However, I'm sure it could only help the experience if you decide you want to play it.
It's pretty cheap now on Steam, and it looks as though it has a lot of positive reviews -
