In each sentence below, one set of letters has been substituted for another. The words are in the correct order, with a space after each and correct punctuation. Each sentence has its own code. Can you figure out the substitutions and find the original sentences? -1. CQD UWFP XGMFD RFQGQDWF DYQNSYD JQEQFMDNFM XQRFMCQX QCEP XMCS KC DWJYCKJQEQF GQUKWX -2. The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

1. Not very smart promoter thought coloratura sopranos only sang in technicolor movies These are great fun, but tough, especially coping with new words and US spelling!

Thank you, Mom, for teaching me how to do these So what is the secret apart from trying to find one word with a recognisable profile to get you started?

Amazing solve, Redz! Lex, these are challenger cryptograms, but in regular ones, it can help to try E in place of the letter that appears the most often because E is the most commonly used letter in the language. Even more helpful in today's world is a computer program that does the substitutions for you. It doesn't recommend letters or do any solving, it just makes the process faster and easier. Here's one that I like: http://scottbryce.com/cryptograms/

Not really on these. They were definitely challenging. Trial and error mostly. Double letters help...not all letters can be doubled. Common two and three letter words, again trial and error alot. And using a pencil with a "great" eraser is a must.
