Long time no see! I just saw a live stream showcasing the new Alone in the Dark game on Twitch. The full game is due out Oct. 25, 2023. As of today, May 25, 2023 a playable "prologue chapter" is available on Steam, for anyone interested.

I've been following the game for awhile and haven't posted due to the combat and action. Thanks for thinking of us, Gamehound. I will move to the DarkSide.

I thought the game was adventure (at least the originals). Interesting.

The original game was what I would describe as an action adventure.

Gamehound, The developers describe the content like this:

The player fights against monsters with guns and melee weapons. No excessive gore or dismemberment, but violence against non-human enemies is displayed.
Some of the game's themes imply self-harm, such as suicide and depression, but are not shown explicitly.

Some of the clips I've seen since it was announced show this to be accurate. If when it releases it turns out to be nothing, I'm happy to move back.

I do remember freaking out because there were a few short action sequences in one of the old AITD games.
