Look in the game folder or in the start menu for a "readme" file. There are usually some solutions in the readme for known issues. This horizontal/vertical sync out of range problem might be listed there. I would try un-installing and re-installing the demo. Pay close attention while the demo is installing to see if it gives you any options to set the in-game resolution. Also if there is a "V-Sync" option, turn it on. If it's on, try turning it off. You could also try forcing V-Sync on in the Nvidia Control Panel under "Manage 3D Settings". Your video drivers are up to date. As Jenny said, it might be helpful to try an older version, though it's probably a longshot. Here's version 94.24. It's from May of last year. http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_94.24.html
