Hi, My sister finally bought her first computer and I'm wanting her to play an adventure game, but don't want to discourage her with one that is too difficult to start with. I thought Return to Mysterious Island might be a good one for her or maybe Egyptian Prophecy. She's easily stressed. Is there another one that might be better?

Thanks,
Terri smile

How about a fantastic Adventure Lite game called Drawn: The Painted Tower. It's fantastic, it simpler and has a great unique storyline.

YOu can read GameBoomer opinions here and Here.

Simon 4 is a very entertaining game, but I wouldn't consider it easy!

I would say Dracula Resurrection and Dracula: Last Sanctuary.

Curse of Monkey Island (on the easy setting) is great, and one of my first adventures.

The Telltale games are pretty easy and offer a hint system. Seasons 1 and 2 of Sam and Max are good.

The Blackwell games are very easy and have a strong story. If she doesn't care about graphics she might like them.

Drawn: The Painted Tower is a good suggestion.

Another good suggestion I believe is Syberia. First of all, I found it really easy.
Second of all, it's really a classic adventure, with a beautiful story, deep characters and magical setting.

There's definitely definitely definitely no logic to human behaviour.

I agree with Drawn and Syberia.

My first Adventure was Amerzone which I loved followed by Black Mirror and Darkfall. Winners all wave

As an adventure game for a first timer, I don't know if Syberia would be that easy. I thought the inventory and conversation system was not as intuitive as in most games and was quite confusing. I certainly had problems with it the first time I played Syberia. In fact, I might suggest starting with Amerzone instead.

But another game she could look at is a free online game called Anika's Odyssey. You can play it from Big Fish's website
***Anika's Odyssey at Big Fish***

And then there are the Nick Bounty games, A Case of the Crabs and Goat in the Grey Fedora that you can play online at Pinhead Games
http://www.pinheadgames.com/
http://www.otterarchives.com/bountygame.html
http://www.otterarchives.com/bounty2/index.html

And then there are the Samarost games, which can be played online at BigFish.

***Samarost 2***

I wouldn't suggest those two to someone who is "easily stressed." Especially the second one, which is full of timed puzzles with vampire monsters attacking you.

Perhaps Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island which she could play in junior mode. It is available at Big Fish. Road to India is an easy game but harder to find. Egypt II might be a good choice too. Also available at Big Fish.

Maybe one of the Carol Reed games.
They aren't too difficult.
And you can find them at Big Fish.

How about Destination: Treasure Island? Very easy and a lot of fun.

You could suggest to her Gabriel Knight 2. That is a fairly easy game until the end. Not very stressful at all. With the XP patch it is easy to install. Doe's she have XP or Vista ?

I would recommend Secret Files 2: Puritas Cordis as Max and Nina made it a very enjoyable game to play. If one is just starting to play games why not start with something being made today instead of yesterday? The future of adventure games depends on now, not way back when.

To love is to be happy with!

I like all the suggestions. Shany said Curse of Monkey Island on the easy setting and I think that is a great choice.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

One of the best intro games I've Played was Road to India, short and easy, but fun.

You can get it here:

Hi Boomers. Thanks for all the good suggestions. There are a couple that I haven't played yet, I'll have to check them out. I appreciate all of the input!
