Try your hand at these brain-busting trivia questions. Remember, please, that you may not google or use any reference sources for the first 24 hours of this thread.
-1. Who was Clark Kent’s high school sweetheart? -2. What sport was the first to be filmed, and who filmed it? -3. What was the only U.S. battleship to be present at both the attack at Pearl Harbor and at the D-Day invasion? -4. What was the name of Edgar Bergen’s female dummy? -5. According to Raymond Loewy, the industrial designer who introduced streamlining to packaging, what are the two most perfectly designed containers? -6. Can you name the nine daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne – the nine Muses of Greek mythology? -7. What does Separation Creek in Oregon separate? -8. Where is Rock English spoken? -9. What is the measurement “one foot” based on? -10. How did pound cake get its name?
The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

I'll take a shot at #9. I have an errant brain cell that seems to remember it was an attempt by Charlemagne to standardize the measurement of a foot by using the length of his own foot.
