i know its an old game,but i would just like to finish it.every time i get to the same position i'm done for.i get into magician's place,but i cannot use tinderbox on apparatus,and i cannot find the oil burner or tap.can anyone please help.

I stopped playing this game 2 mos ago, just right before getting in the magician's place.

Let's hope somebody that has played it can help us. I'll see if it's still in my puter and hopefully get to your part successfully.

I just checked where I am in the game. I don't have the tinderbox - where did you find it?

Mags, the tinderbox is at the blacksmith's, next to the barrel on the floor.

Big Al, you don't use the tinderbox on the apparatus--you're just supposed to look at it. Use the tinderbox on the oil burner (which I suppose is a stove of some sort). The flask you will use to get water from the tap...

I think I better restart this game, Jenny. I didn't find the tinderbox at the blacksmith's. Plus I can't remember what I did before.

Just for future reference - the tinderbox was not present at the blacksmith's place in 2 restarts. It appeared on my third restart of the game. I did not reinstall the game, just played a new game everytime.

the tinderbox is at the blacksmiths and easy to pick up but where is the oil burner in the magician's house and where is the tap.you will not get the tinderbox until you have spoken to luthern and he has drunk the flask and then spoken to grub who will give you the lockpick to get into the magician's place.if you cannot find these items then the skoll comes in and gets you.

I already finished the game.

The tinderbox was absent and came up only when I restarted the game the 3rd time.

That info will come handy for the next gamer.

For your future information bank: Lure of the Temptress has a bug regarding the tinderbox.

I was stuck for a year before someone at Underdogs helped me. No amount of pixel-hunting would reveal that &%$# box.

Solution: begin the game, then restart (while still in the cell since that is the beginning). The tinderbox will (miraculously) appear at the blacksmith's.

i have the tinderbox that is no problem.its using it on the oil burner and finding the tap thats the problem.thanks.

I'm sorry bigal! I totally misread that part about the tap and oilburner.

Oilburner - pixel hunt by moving the cursor slowly to the rodlike item on the left (yours) of the apparatus. Use tinderbox on it.

Tap - after the apparatus boils, move the cursor (another pixel hunt) to the right (yours) of the apparatus to what looks like the round flask.
This is where the ingredients where boiled-prepared.

The screen is made up all those pixels.

A pixel is a single point in a graphic image. Graphics monitors display pictures by dividing the display screen into thousands (or millions) of pixels, arranged in rows and columns. The pixels are so close together that they appear connected.

So the hotspot could be just a small number of pixels only You have to move that cursor so slowly to find - hunt for that hotspot.
