You can change the direction of the six snake heads which in turn changes the direction of the flow of water (or stops it). There are two diagrams in the tunnel way which indicate the desired flow of water. When you have set the snakes then pull the lever in front of the big snake (using bull headed staff if you have it) and if you have set the heads correctly a door should open giving you a key. Good luck. BTW The bull headed spear is easily obtained in another room. The trick is to leave that room without getting sliced and diced From the perch move step by step to the left after the first spike wall falls. Wait for the next to raise then walk ahead, and wait for the next wall to rise. Then walk to the edge of where the spikes come out of the floor and run to the door when the spikes lower. At the same time avoid running into the door blade. Then go as fast as you can to the middle of the hall and time it just right. The middle of that hall is the hardest part.
Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

Spoiler... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . As you are facing the big snake..... first pair face toward you, second pair face away from you, third pair face toward you ( and the one in the middle faces away from you )

Okay here I am in the elevator room - my son got me out of the slice and dice room thank you very much I managed to get the water flowing once only to not be able to get onto that ^%&$% elevator so I had to reload and now I can't remember how I got the water flowing - I've been spinning my wheels -literally for 15 minutes now and I'm getting callouses - how does one get this blasted water flowing?
Dark Side : Risen Light Side: I can only please one person a day. Today isn't your day. Tomorrow's not looking good either.

Ok... I posted earlier about it, but I'll see if I can add a bit more. From the times that you get it turned to the proper place and then not getting on the elevator, I assume you know what the proper combination of the wheel is. So what you have to try to do is get it to the spot that is 2 turns before the right combination. Then hit enter twice... hopefully it will register both of them, and while it is doing those 2 turns, you have a bit of time to get on the elevator. I don't think this is necessarily the right way to do this, but it worked for me. But then again, maybe it is the right way to do it. Who knows. I read a post somewhere else - can't remember if it was in this forum or another one - where someone claimed to have pulled the lever and stopped the elevator from going all the way up. But I haven't been able to get that to work for me. Good luck a

Not quite that far. How do you do the waterwheel? Know has something to do with the phases of the moon. Have tried turning the wheels and lowering the slabs so you see whats behind it but still no water. Should I have picked up anything before now?

Acornia, if you look around on the upper level you will see a mural of each animal. Make a note of the symbol above each one, then go down to the bottom level and pull down each slab to see what animal is behind it. Then raise the slab and position the left hand with the wheel to the same position as the symbol for that animal. It will be either horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. Then lower the slab again. Do that with all six slabs. When you get it right the water wheel will turn and the water will flow. Kay
Its one of those doors that needs a thingy thing.

Ok, that's it, I'm about to give up. I cannot get out of the sin room. A couple more trys and that's it. Grrrr. Doesn't seem like much of an adventure. I'm just running around trying to save my ass-teroids. What am I doing wrong?
What do you see Crispeto? I see URU Live!

Satch, Try checking the arrangement of the water and the snake's head. You might have missed a turn of a head. You are to follow the directions of the stand closest to room. One triangle means the snake's head is towards the door. 2 triangles means it faces the single stair at the back with the water source.

Not on the doors but on the green thing in front of the snake. Has a lever like spot. Stand in front of it facing the snake.
