I have painted the boomerang; the w.t. says to click the boomerang on the imp in the set. I have clicked on every imp a dozen times, but I get the message: "Don't want to rub off the paint," etc. Where is that dern imp in the set?
(Sorry I couldn't locate the old thread; haven't posted for quite a while). Doc Russ

Hi Doc Russ,

I'm going by the wt here:
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
hints 1 = Talk to the imp trainer, and he'll offer you an imp. The only problem is that it dipped itself in that magic paint, and went into the scenery. Put boomerang/stick in the paint and use it on the imp when it pops its head out, and you'll get back your imp.

Hope this helps!

The set it refers to is on the left of the screen, behind the table where the imps are painting... Do you have anything to put an imp in???

Hey, got the imp! Thanks. BUT .. I have tried a dozen or more times to use he surf-board on the surf. Rinsewind takes a ride, then always gets dumped back where he started from. Saying something about not learning how to use the surfboard, ro some such thing. Apparently, he needs to ride his surfboard to a cave somewhere? More hints, please. GameBoomers ALWAYS have the answers! Doc Russ

Russ, one of the walkthroughs at The Spoiler Centre mentions this: SPOILER

use the saw on the ironing board and the resulting
surfboard on the surf. No good. Use the glue on the ironing board. Use the board on the surf.

I finally figured out how to glue Rincewnd to the board, by combining the surf-board with the glue pot then do the surf. I'm now in the cave and will resume play shortly. Your advice much appreciated!!!

In trouble again! Where in heck is the elven circle? Also, I try to add the unicorn costume to Rinsewind

Russ, you should check out the walkthroughs at The Spoiler Centre --there are a whole bunch of them, and maybe you can get more information from one of these...

I have down-loaded several walk-troughs. There is a serious problem with 'adopting' a new walk-through, however. It almost forces you to start the game over because of the different order of sequences. My immediate probmem (not explained in the walk-throughs), is how to put an item in Rinsewind's inventory (NOT the luggage). Could it be that he can only carry two items? Then what do I do to unload one of the items? Put it in the luggage temporarily? There's so much about this game, of late, that I wonder if senility is really creeping up on ol' Doc!!! Russ

Russ, if you find a walkthrough you like, just go through it and cross off everything you've already done. Then what's left is what you still need to do--no reason to have to start over.

As for the inventory thing, this quote from one of the walkthrough seems to suggest a solution, or at least a reason why you can't put the unicorn suit on Rincewind: SPOILER

go to the Forest. You have to be careful here,
since the luggage can't follow you through the Stones. Make sure that Rincewind is carrying the camera. Pick up the unicorn suit and, carrying it outside the Luggage, go to the Stones. Click on them. When you are through, click the unicorn suit on Rincewind.

Russ, Rincewind can carry only two items in his small inventory. Use the luggage to carry more.

Having some extra time tonight, I'm ready for another shot at Discworld 2. Next, I have to give the Elven Queen pictures to the make-up girl. I wonder what marvelous action is in store for me? Who knows, I might be able to play a few 'rounds' before genuflecting before Ye Exhaulted GameBoomers and Co., hat in hand ... Doc Russ

Well, this time I'm really stumped. Got BIGGGG trouble. I'm in Death's house, in the kitchen, and need the sugar cubes. The butler tells me to keep my hands off the sugar. I see NO way to get those cubes. I will need them a little while further into the game (I peeked at the rest of the walk-thorugh). What did I do wrong? There's light at the end of the trouble, I think. But the hurdles keep coming. (Anybody got a spare crying towel?????) Doc Russ

Russ, try going into the Study and pulling the bell cord, which will presumably summon the butler. Then you can rush into the kitchen and grab the sugar...
