Hi,
I'm well into this game, but I seemed to have reached a dead end when trying to get into see Silverbridge to get the picture of his son. I checked the walkthrough and it suggests that I should have done things in a different order. Other online searches suggest that this game does have dead ends, one at Silverbridge's and one at Hargrove's. I seem to be stuck at both places. I'd be OK with redoing the game if it wasn't for having to do the dart game over again (that took many, many, many tries), but if there was another solution like a savegame after the darts or when Toby appears in the park that would be great. BTW I noticed that the savegameserver site is no longer functioning; are there any other sites that others use?

Thanks for your help...

Jim

Hello again,

One caveat about using the download saves that you referenced; the names of the saves are in French, which isn't a problem, and the names of the items in your inventory are also French, but the icons showed all the same image and when I went to use them in the usual places like showing the "chapeau" nothing happened. Not sure if my download got corrupted or there is a problem with the files themselves.

However, I went back to the my original saves and started at a point where I think it'll work. Actually won the dart game much more easily this time smile. So far so good, don't mind the complications for a good game like this.

Thanks for your help.

Jim

Just to complete my thoughts about the dead end theory...probably not so much. I went back into the game at a way previous save and worked through it with no sign of a dead end. I think there are probably really none (My apologies for casting aspersions on the game designer/programmers)...that a so-called "dead end" happens when I failed to use all the dialogue and/or all the possible options for an object. Great game!

BTW, I played it on Windows 7 using the D-Fend front end for DosBox and had no problems installing or proceeding through the whole game.

Thanks for all that info. I'm glad you enjoyed it - I think it's a great game and one I should replay (I played the game when it was first released).
