I finally solve the dreaded Mangree/Camoudile puzzle after about two hours and with lots of help from everyone here. But I can't seem to get the snake to appear. I have tapped and tried running my hand along the bottom line (I don't get an open hand). But after many many tries I can't get the snake to show up. Please any suggestions, hints would be appreciated.

I'm stuck in Spire. help I'm in the 'spider' chair trying to get the four elements vibrating together but I keep running out of time.

SPOILER:

The vibrating sequence I've been following has been "White crystal" "Blue Crystal" "Rocky" "Nara (knight piece)". I've followed this because the "white" takes about 45 seconds to complete its circuit as a result of the one exit-hole. But I seem to need more time. mad

I'm assuming my vibrating parameters are correct at:

"white" 6 12 4 (or is it 8 12 4??)
"blue" 3 1 7
"Rocky" 10 5 5
"Nara" 12 12 12 (the easiest to do)

Dragonia, do you have the water diverted properly? Did you open the nearest gate to flood the fountain overlooking the workshop? Did you try the ingame hints? They explain the harvester (that's what they call it) draining procedure.

Char, the hand icon doesn't "open" for this puzzle. You have to just click and drag along the bottom right black stripe four times. Click, drag RIGHT-TO-LEFT, release, then again three more times. Then when he appears click on his head. He's a bit scary.

Pere, you have it right. Read the hints folks have used here to shorten their times. It's a hard one...

Be careful when setting it on position "1". I was dragging the slider all the way to the bottom and it misses the "1" setting (there is actually a "0" setting there). 12 is easy because you CAN slide it all the way to the top (i.e., there is no position 13).

I haven't been able to visit Haven for several days but this afternoon did finally solve Mangree/Camoudile puzzle (thank you Dadguy)and then played with the snake (in real life I've relocated 2 rattlesnakes from next to my house so the Haven snake didn't rattle my nerves). I linked back to Tomahna, up the elevator, through the fireplace and wandered around a bit expecting thing to have changed as I'd read in other posts. I didn't see any different scenery so went to Yeesha's bedroom, down to the dock and linked to Serenia. Did I miss doing something on Tomahna??

Well, back to Serenia.

I am trying to get out of the spider chair. How do you set the darn thing so it works? I have tried for hours and can't get past this point. I have counted and counted and am sure there have been times when it was correct. I don't understand why they had to make that thing so hard to get by. The locks dont always stay where I put them they slip and it is hard to count at times. Is the first green mark 1 or 0?

dadguy (your awful popular here) laugh By flooding the fountain do you mean the water coming outta the goddess's mouth? That is a yes. I can't read all the hints in the game again. I am missing 5 thru 8 and no hints passed 12. But I can see them blinking so I know there is more. I have the water shut off on both sides next to the pond close to the path down to the workshop. No water flowing by the bellows or down the waterfall that goes under the bridge to the bathysphere, is that correct?

That is correct dragonia, water should be coming out of the goddess's mouth, make sure that in the waterwheel with the broken cogwheel, there should not be no water at all flowing threw there, and the other one where the snake thing was wrapped, the flow should be at the right...

When you get back to where the harvester is there should be no water anywhere in site, not even those pumps going up or down..

If you can't get access to the door to open, go back up to the harvester, bring it down to the pool with the door open, then close it to trap water in, bring it back up, don't spill water out, go back down to see if the door open, if not, go back up to the harvester, dunk the harvester, with the door still close and water inside, then bring it up, do not spill out water, go back down to the stairs and see if the door is open..if not go back up again and dunk the harvester with door close, bring it back up and open the door and spill the water out..one of these will open the door eventually..

make sure and this is important that you have turned the wheel with the window above it clockwise to open up the tunnel in the pool, you will see it open when you turn the wheel, this will lease water through, when you dunk the harvester..

hope this helps.

I believe I have everything like I should. The door at the bottom of the stairs is the one I will be going thru right? Will it just be open when I look? I have been trying the suggestions for a few hours with no sucess.

Re: spire spider chair harmonics. Thanks Dadguy I finally worked it out. I couldn't really find help elsewhere that would help me shorten the time to move the sliders but here is what I did:
@
@
@
SPOILER
@
@
@
@
@
@
@
@
@
1)I noted that it didn't matter which slider you started on or you finished with to create the element vibration (ie 123,231,132,etc);
2)I found it a lot easier to focus on the'lights' rather than the notches on the slider for counting . Once the white quartz harmonics started the border between on/off lights in the bank had turned the corner . From this point I found it easy to count lights on or turn off through the 'feel' of the appropiate slider.

So I made my slider sequence (starting with quartz) 132, then 123,321,123
The corresponding lighting sequence is #1 6 off,#3 4 off, then with a deep breath...#2 slide 12 off (the race begins), then to #1 slide 3 on, #2 (slide 12 on then take 1 off), #3 slide 3 off, (pause),#3 slide 2 on, #2 slide 4 off, #1 slide 7 off,(pause) then push all three sliders to the top.
I use the word 'pause' so that you come to a complete stop and not to a 'rolling' stop as some auto drivers often do.
Anyway, focusing on counting lights on/off once I passed quartz was my saving grace. I know one thing...I'll never be a Starfighter pilot.

Center is #2
Right is #3

#1 Push until 6 crystals are lit (starting with lower right side and going counter clockwise.
#3 Push until 4 more are lit
#2 Push all the way in

BLUE CRYSTAL:
#2 Pull all the away back (reset)
#1 Pull back until 3 crystals go out
#3 Push until until 3 crystals light up
#2 Push until 1 crystal lights up

ROCK:
#1 Push until 7 more cystals light up
#2 Push until 4 more crystals light up
#3 Pull until 2 crystals go out

Yes, drangonia the door at the bottom is the one you will be going through and should be open you go down to the bottom of the stairs, only if you have dumped enough water out of the pool..MAKE
SURE, you turned the wheel below the window, and the tunnel is open, this allows the rest of the water left in the pool to go through, by doing so dunk the harvester to spill water in that tunnel that you opened, this should open the door at the bottom..

If the door at the bottom of the stairs is not opened is because you still have water in the pool..

This is how I did it...

I went down the stairs, and the first thing I cam accross was a wheel and a window above it, I can still see some water still in the pool..

So I turned the wheel clockwise, and through the window I could see a tunnel door rise, so I went down the stairs and saw a door, that was closed,

So, I went back up to the harvester, and dunked the harvester with the door open, once the harvester was in the pool, I closed the door, then I pulled the harvester up, then I dunked the harvester again with the door close, then I pulled the harvester up again, and check to see if the dooor at the bottom was opened, but it was not, so I went back up again, and dunked the harvester with the door close and water inside one more time, then I pulled it up, open the door and spilled out water, went back all the way down the stairs, and the door was open, and I went through..

It took me a few dunks to get the door open..but want is important is that the tunnel below the pool is opened..

Liz

The Spider Chair is really frustrating. I set the first one right I know it is right and the 1st lock does not open I have tried every way I can I even used Vizagoth's method nothing works. Several times trying to open the locks I get the magnifying glass to bring the lock up close. Then I have to start all over again. Why doesn't the first lock pop when I have the count right? I don't get anything to vibrate. I have been on this thing for hours. mad mad

How do I tune the crystals? I have set and reset the gears several times at the bottom of spire. There is no sound when I move the sliders to open the locks.

Dutch, you may want to check the glitches forum. If you have the gears correctly set, they you should be able to hear the sounds.

Dutch, it took my husband and me an entire week to solve this puzzle, which we finally got through (and got out of spire) last night. I kept feeling like I had NO IDEA what was going on, or even what was supposed to be going on, until we finally had *all* the pieces.

Tuning the crystals: did you make the connection between the gears beneath the throne place and the gauges on the 3 big crystals up above (one near the access to the docking bay, one near Sirrus' sleeping chamber and one viewable by the telescope on the other palace)? Each set of gears has a different symbol on it and each crystal has a different-shaped setting. Each gauge has a "set mark" on it and also a lever that is affected by turning the gears below. On crystal #1--the crystal above the access to the dock with the pentagonal setting, which corresponds to the first gear--the correct setting is four places from the top. All the way up (on the gear) and all the way down count. Try moving the gear and going back and forth between there and the crystal to see what I mean. You can actually check on two of the crystals to see if they're right, but on the one with the gauge blown off you'll have to hypothesize.

Hope this helps--it was the last connection we had to make to get things going, anyway.

WW
