I have two questions. I have been trying for days to finish the puzzle where you put the crowns on the squares. I got the 4 x 4 and the 6 x 6, but I am baffled on the 8 x 8 grid. Does anyone have a solution? I can get 7 crowns, but I can't get the eighth. My second question is: where do I find the sunset to get my user name and password? I have found both newspapers, but I can't find the sunset. mad

I cannot give you help on the 8x8 grid. I also stopped here.

Just click on the sunset in the picture shown at that page. Then you will get a frame to enter the username and password. You get the username and password from the game itself from the clues given on the 'players' page at Magnetic site and then type it in.

I think the 8x8 if I recall is
row 1 5
row 2 2
row 3 6
row 4 1
row 5 7
row 6 4
row 7 8
row 8 is 3
these are of course horizontal rows...hope I remembered correctly

Peter said that if you did a search on queens squares in google you would find a lot of sights that gave the answer to this one. There a a large number of different permutations
Come and join us on the beach at Peter's website. You may find he has changed the login requirements a little smile

Hi SuMac, go to the newspaper. From there go forward 8, left 2, forward 4 and turn right to see the queens game.

The newspaper is the second forward while turning to your right from the opening scene.

I came up with squares numbered 6-11-23-26-36-48-49-61. I suppose the would be:
Row 1 - 6
Row 2 - 3
Row 3 - 7
Row 4 - 2
Row 5 - 4
Row 6 - 8
Row 7 - 1
Row 8 - 5

Thanks everyone, but I finally solved it and got into the forum. Now I have another question. How do I get to the "other side of the island"?

As you play, more paths open up to you. I never really went to "the other side of the island". If you go left along the beach from the opening scene and keep heading that way (checking out all the side turns) you'll come to the turtle puzzle, gold balls, combination code, coins, and scrambled word puzzles that take you to bigger puzzles. There are more puzzles on the beach but you have to find hints before they work.

If you turn around from the opening screen, you can take a hike up the path to Wazzidor lookout and the music puzzle.

What puzzles are you still missing?

I think I have found all but one of the puzzles. The one I am missing is second row, third puzzle (I think)

wave That puzzle is the 'Beehive' puzzle. You can find it by going to the 'no-fishing' sign, and clicking on the left arrow and then clicking on the up arrow to find the Turtle graphics puzzle. Solve this one, and the other one is behind it.
Hope that helps.

Oh, I just love this puzzle! I have finally gotten to a point where I can beat it 8 times out of 10 (ok, maybe 7). There are even certain moves I know will guarantee me a win.

One thing to note. If you start and the game is styming you, start a new line as far away from its path as possible. Let's say it's starting in the lower right and it is beating you, start a new path up in the uppper right and move along that way.

My favorite is if the computer starts in the 3rd row down uppper right, click just above it in row 2. Keep choosing row 2 to the left. Always leave the ends until last because you can choose from 2 choices on each end. (this is hard to explain without a diagram).

Thanks everyone. I finally found and solved the Turtle puzzle and the one behind it. I am now trying to solve the "Nim" one and the squares and rectangle ones. I am going batty on those three.

Flori, what do you need to know about the Nim? Here's my strategy:
Nim3D:

If the computer goes first, it will try to leave 1,2,3 or 1,4,5 or 2 equal
amounts of 2 different colors. Use this strategy on it.

Example: Given 1white, 3blue, 3gold, it will take 1white and leave 3,3
Example: Given 3w, 4b, 5g, it will take 2w and leave 1,4,5.
Example: Given 5w, 6g, 4b. I took 3b, (5w,6g,1b), computer 2g (5w,4g,1b),
I took 2w (3w,4g,1b), computer 2g leaving 1,2,3.

Remember to try and leave the computer with 1,4,5 or 1,2,3 or even colors of two different colors.
