My best friend (tenant) went home to visit with his parents since his mom was undergoing Chemo for her breast cancer. Dad needed help getting mom to stop trying to do everything around the house.

He got there last night, was asleep for an hour, and was woken by mom who wanted to go to the hospital, she was feeling ill.

Her heart stopped 2 times and she was in intensive care most of the day, but then another stop and they couldn't save her.

I'm so sad for him. He's not the most 'sharing' guy but he sent an email letting me know.

Feeling bad but at least he was there when it counted and his sister drove 2 hours to be there this morning and all were there.

Prayers would help (even though he's not a believer in anything) but I told him I was going to send some anyway. The family will be dealing with a lot now.

She was 86.

Thanks guys for all the support. The family is doing well. They are settling all the 'accounts' and taking a little side road trip just to see the grandkids and bring one of them the 'leftover' gramdma's car. Nice of them.

Things will be OK. The hubby is used to being alone while the wife traveled for her humanitarian trips to other countries and so he will be ok. He just has to realize that she isn't coming back this time.

Friend will be coming home sooner than he expected because all is handled there. No funeral, per her wishes and it's all done. I'll convey all the support from our GB crew. It will cheer him up.

Got an email from my friend. He and the dad and sister are on a 'road trip'. Yep. Got all the accounts settled (mom had a lot of stuff in her maiden/Dr. name) so they handled that. Now they are driving across country, visiting relatives and friends. Probably 2 weeks or so and then my friend will fly home, while the dad continues his visitation. They always were travelers. All is well, thanks again for the kind words and prayers.

I hope they find the trip very healing.
