Hi Bill,

I have to know where you exactly are in the game, I know the device where you are now.
The first time that you come there you only can find a key and a handle up there, also a letter.
you can walk to that device but you cannot do anything with it because the building you mean doesn't have power yet.
First you have to get power to that building than you can open the building with this device.

After you have power in that building go to that device

Click to reveal..
name the rings from outside to inside A to D, when you push on the button to the right you select the rings. there are 4 different combinations:
A + C, A + D, B + D and B on its own. each ring has a dark piece, you have to get all the dark pieces together at the 3 o'clock position.
first select A + C and click on middle knop to turn the rings, keep clicking till C is on right place. select then A + D and click untill A is on the right place.
select than B + D and get D to the good place and at last select B and turn this one on the good place, now you can enter the building.
succes Bill

In 2017 I made a Dutch walkthrough for Quern, you can find it at www.pcgameswalkthroughs.nl

I am now busy with the translation of this walkthrough to English.

I will let here know when it is on the site.

Hi Bill,

Have you opened both doors to that room?
After you pulled the handle and the gear has moved to the left, you have to go up the ladder again.
Go to the device and change the position of the dark pieces to the 9 o'clock position.
Go down the ladder and go via the Main Square to the other door of that hut.
There you have to solve another puzzle with lights and that is a very nasty puzzle.

You have to repeat 3 series of lights, the first is easy only 3 or 4 lights. The second 1 you get a serie of 5 or 6 lights and the last serie could be around 14 lights. For the last serie I used a voicerecorder to make a note of the serie, if you make a mistake in the last serie you have to do the last serie again but then it has a different sequence.
After you have solved this puzzel, a grid is opened to the right of the lights. Pull the grid completly open, select the gear in your inventory and click on the axle.
After you done this climb up the ladder again, now the lever on the left site is loose. Pull the lever, now the room changes.

Succes, that light puzzle is a nasty one,

I told you, very nasty those lights in the last serie.
In this case nothing wrong with a little bit of cheating.

Succes
