There are amusing and worthwhile qualities here. A sense of black humor animates some of the HOs. Most of the screens have grace notes, almost Easter eggs. For instance, when I idly clicked on a
Click to reveal..
broom, it came to life and tidied up a spot on the floor with a chalk outline of the deceased maniacal movie director obsessed with authenticity; in another, a bowler hat--dancing toward eternity--bobbed its way off camera.

Unfortunately, the technically well done graphics are too blue and purple. I can only stand to play for a few minutes at a time. Also there is too much hand holding. I can understand the choice to do so because the colors are disorienting enough to make the action hard to follow. I still don't like it when silhouettes inform me exactly what an incomplete inventory item needs. That said, if you can take the colors, this is a fairly good game.

I played and finished this one a couple of days ago. I saw one reviewer liken Domini's color palette to that of a bag of Skittles, and I thought that was apt. grin

I did enjoy the game, though. And, as is usual for this developer, the game was of a very good length.

I really really liked this game...one I will put on my replay list....there aren't all that many...but my fave of all time: Return to Ravenhurst (and too bad the developers that took over that series in no way did it justice..and I just KNOW there's more creepy limbs on that family tree...maybe another developer will take pity on those of us who loved it and do it justice!)
