Apparently we are excluding photographs of beautiful museum objects such as one can find in BYZANTINE, so it is what the artists and programmers can do. So, the scenes I remember particularly are those in which something interesting happens. Here I think of some already mentioned, such as the sunners in RIVEN. I particularly liked the flycatcher in AMERZONE. The rain scenes in REAL MYST and the balloons in SCHIZM are retained in my memory as well. Then there is that horse ride across the water in ATLANTIS that has also been mentioned. Many scenes in Amateria in MYST EXILE were memorable as well.

Having fairly recently played both SYBERIA I & II, I agree that there was a plethora of beautiful scenes in both. In fact, I can't think of any other games in which there were so many. One thing about a lot of modern games -- the developers are paying a good deal of attention to the graphics, which is fine. Beautiful scenes make the game more enjoyable, particularly if you can look at them from a variety of points of view.

Of course it helps if there is a good plot, interesting puzzles, and good character development (which includes good voice overs).

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it. -- Aristotle

I loved the scenery in A Quiet Weekend in Capri. My favorite was the Grotto.

Wow! That's tough for me. Almost every game I play has at least one scene where the scenery just blows me away. I really did like the swamp in Darkened Skye, although sorta dark and erie, with the fireflies, and frogs and the giant lillypads, IMO it was spectacular!

I thought URU had some of the best scenery I've seen in a game . All of the Myst games are great to look at. I also have to agree with others about the scenery in Syberia .

The detailed environments in The Black Mirror and The Dark Fall games created an ambience that was quite immersive .

Hi smile

Although it's older now, I felt the scenery in JP3 Legacy of Time was spectacular.

Wonderful views in the different places laugh

Cheers.

I have to say when Victoria goes home for the first time. The snow outside and the Christmas lights were so beautiful to me. Her dad's home made me feel cozy.

The scene in the Mountains in AURA sticks in my mind, as do a number of the scenes in RIVEN
