I'm having another one of those senior moments. I remember a scene from a game, but I can't remember what the game is. I think it might be a game I would like to replay. The scene involves an alligator on a small island, and you have to lure the alligator off the island to retrieve an item that is on the island. There is a fence separating the island from where you are, and you have to do something with a nearby boat to distract the alligator.

Does anybody remember this game?

Thanks, aretha.

I still can't associate that scene with Puritas Cordis. it's been a long time since I played it, the only thing I remember is a scene on a cruise ship. I'm going to give it a replay. I just got the GOG version installed. I bought it from GOG about 6 months ago as part of a bundle that included the four Secret Files games and both of the Lost Horizon games. I got the whole set of 6 games on sale for only $7.99. That set is on sale as part of GOG's current sale for $7.99 also,
but that sale only lasts for a day or so more. If anybody's interested the set is called the Animation Arts Collection.

Uncle Reg, I played all of the Secret Files games late last year and don't remember an alligator in Puritas Cordis, but that could just be my memory smile.

If you go to the walkthrough at
http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcSs/Secretfiles2/secretfiles2.htm
and do a search for the word crocodile (not alligator) you will find the scene Mad describes.

Usually, after just weeks, I'm quite likely to have forgotten LOTS about a game.
But sometimes things like spiders, vampires and crocodiles make a more lasting impression !! laugh

That's easy for you to say Jenny, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to "search" it. lol I had tried to skim the walkthrough looking for alligator when that was first posted but didn't see it.

Thanks though!

I didn't know about the Ctrl-F to bring up a search box either, oldbroad! Might be nice to have a button to click on for it.

OH! Now I remember that scene. Thank you Jenny. Totally forgot that. I was scanning more in the area of the island chapter.

Draclvr, I don't know any keyboard shortcuts but I'm sure I've searched documents before. They do have buttons to click on.

Mad, it's weird how our minds work. Sometimes I can remember things that you'd think I would have forgotten and I forget things you'd think I'd have remembered. I recently replayed Rhiannon and there was an area in the game that was kind of an AHA moment of "oh this is what game this is in". I remembered the scene but not the game. Happens a lot for me with games. A lot of them blend together that way.

Yes. A lot of MY played games seem to "blend" after a while, oldbroad. And the actual "while" can be just a couple of weeks !! lol

Precisely what caused me to start this thread in the first place.

Too funny, Mad! It's the same for me. On the bright side, it makes games replayable soon after I have finished them. lol

Yep Uncle Reg. I realized that kind of right after I posted blush.

By the way, is Puritas Cordis the game you were thinking of?

I use the Control + F function all the time in the Hints forum. People ask me for help in a game where they are stuck, a game I have never played and know zero about, and I use Control + F to help me find where they are by using a keyword. I would be utterly lost without Control + F!

Marian, is there somewhere that states we can use Control + F to search? I sure never knew about it either!

Drac, I think that MaG told me about it; either that, or I stumbled across that key combination while reading some article.

It's a great one to know, and not just for the Hints forum - I find it comes in handy in lots of different situations. smile

I'm not sure. I have started a replay, and I am reluctant to look at the walkthrough to verify it. I'm moving along. I've gotten past where the ship capsizes, and I'm in the jungle with Sam locked in a cage, and Max hiding off to the side in rthe bushes. I'll let you know if I get to that scene.
