I do see that there is a walkthrough here, but, I don't want to look at it yet. I am at the beginning and I know I have to find a ladder. I remember that from the last time that I played. I just can't find it. Is there a way to highlight the objects in this game? if not, can someone tell me where to find the ladder? Or am I just remembering another game?

I haven't played this game and don't think I ever heard of it but I took a look at the walkthrough. Try the den. I'm just taking a guess here, but if you don't see the ladder in the den, maybe you have other things to do first?

If I remember correctly, it is by the monster that is sleeping. but, I have moved my mouse over pretty much the whole area and can't find it. I am wondering if I have to do something first to trigger that? I really don't want to look at a walkthrough for my first 3 minutes into the game. so, I will keep trying. thanks!

Your memory is correct so, yes, I'm thinking you may have to do something else. I totally understand not wanting to look at the walkthrough, especially so early in the game! Looks like there is quite a bit to do so...
