I stopped playing RPGs and darkside games about 5 or six years ago. Thought I might start playing again, but I wanted a game that I had already played so that I would be familiar with it. Looking up Titan Quest I found a lot of free downloads and I wondered if they were safe to use. One of the sites is Old is Gold. Any opinions?

Anywhere where the game is offered for free should be avoided. The game is being sold as a digital download and has also had two all-new expansion packs released for it in the last few years.

I would get the Titan Quest Anniversary Edition from Steam, which you can find here. It's only five dollars right now (great sale!) and works great on new systems. It also includes the original expansion Immortal Throne.

This is a remastered version with many improvements and fixes. You can read about it on the Steam page.

There have also been two additional expansions released for the game in the last few years - you can get the Anniversary Edition plus the two new expansions in the Titan Quest Bundle, which is also offered on the page that I linked to above.

GOG also has the game but it's not on sale at this time so everything Titan Quest is much cheaper on Steam right now.

Definitely agree with Marian. Any site offering free downloads would be pirating as the Titan Quest game and it's expansions are still actively licensed through THQ Nordic.

The sale at Steam goes through July 9th, and if you really want to dive in, they also have a package, which includes that Aniversary edition and the other two DLC's for 17.07. That's a great deal for a lot of gaming. thumbsup

Thank you both so much. I didn't realize I could download the game on Steam. I would much rather pay for the game. Free sounded scary.

No worries, Fil. You picked a *great* time to revisit the game - and who would have thought that there would have been two new expansions released after all this time? happydance

I have the Anniversary Edition and it's really nice! smile

Yeah, THQ has been through some crazy ups and downs. I really liked their Four Horsemen series of games, even though they've gotten some so-so reviews. This is one of those that dropped from my radar, and now it pops back in due to your posting. Yay! smile
