Just bought the new Mystery Case Files "The Harbinger" and am unable to run it full-screen.
If I play it windowed, it doesn't flicker.

The only time I had the flickering problem with a Big Fish game (which disappeared when the game was played in a window) was when I was playing on a laptop with Intel graphics, which were apparently insufficient for the game. Big Fish is very stingy when they list game requirements, and don't tell you when Intel graphics (or other low end graphics) will be a problem.

You can try reducing your desktop resolution to the size of the window and playing with a big window. Otherwise you may have to play on a different computer with a stronger video card. Or return the game and ask Big Fish for a credit on another game.

I was telling Tally Ho that I have what is considered to be a low-end graphics card but have never had a problem with flickering with any Big Fish game; however, it is a dedicated video card and not integrated graphics. I was not considering the possibility that he might be playing with integrated graphics. I am well aware that can be problematic.

It's a desktop, Windows 10. Actually I am using a 40-inch monitor, so the windowed size is acceptable. It's just distracting to see parts of the desktop surrounding the game. I might try some different settings, and maybe overlaying the desktop with black. (I don't wanna return the game; I like it!)

But even if it's a desktop, you still may be using integrated graphics if you don't have a stand-alone video card.

Once again, weeds are my life!

I had a similar problem with an older computer.
I changed the desktop "wallpaper" to solid black and moved all the icons to the middle of the desktop, where they'd be covered by the game window.

That would be the case - integrated is what I have.

Jenny - I just did what you suggested, it's a big improvement. Thanks for the idea.
