Since this is a technical question, I have moved your post over to the Glitches forum.

I don't use Galaxy. It makes things too complicated. Maybe Draclvr ccould tell you.
Download the installation files and every "extra" you want by logging into GOG with your web browser, going to your "My Account" page, and locating the game in your "Library." Download to a folder on your hard drive. Then you can copy/paste the files from your hard drive to your flash drive.

I actually think Galaxy simplifies things, at least insofar as you can download an entire game at once rather than having to download multiple individual files, which I found much more time consuming.

I agree with Marian. I find Galaxy simplifies things and I get my game downloaded and up and running much more quickly. However, to save your files to an exterior drive, you will have to download them individually and then move to the exterior drive.

I prefer not to use Galaxy - unless it's a BIG game - because I like to download the files and then burn them to disk.

But since finding out recently that the current version of Galaxy is not suitable for my Win7 machine anyway, I guess even BIG games will now get downloaded (in chunks) and burned to disk !! whistle

I, for one, will breathe a lot easier when you get the Windows 10 computer and take this Windows 7 off the internet!

This thread on GOG here reports that Galaxy 2.0 works just fine with Windows 7.

But there IS an issue.

And it's fully explained in my thread of September 18th (on this board) called "GOG GALAXY GAME".

I had bought the Willy Morgan game and downloaded it via Galaxy to my Win7 machine, only to experience BAD problems.

When I contacted GOG about them I was told in an email directly from a GOG Technician that Galaxy is no longer supported for Windows 7. The minimum system is now Windows 8."

However, on the download page for the game it is STILL saying :- "GOG Galaxy requires Windows 7 or newer." rolleyes

Yes, I know you feel that way, Draclvr, evil

I had forgotten about that, Mad.

My experience is that I have used Galaxy 2.0 on both a Windows 7 and a Windows 10 computer, and it works just fine on both. I also had no issues with the Willy Morgan game that I purchased from GOG.

I understand that GOG has to officially drop support for Windows 7 with Galaxy, but they ought to also change that sentence that says it supports it.

I believe I also have Galaxy 2.0 on my Windows 7 and it works fine, BUT I played Willy Morgan in my Windows 10.

I don't think I would even know how to download the files and save them to a disc, even though that is one reason I rebought some games on GOG even though I already had them on Steam. My plan was to do that but it never happened. blush

It's not too late, oldbroad. And it's a pretty easy thing to do. smile

thanks for replies.. I agree with jenny, gog galaxy is a little convoluted. I went to the other downloads and it was much easier for me..
