I have to say that I am thrilled to see how popular the Break Room has become! So many new faces posting in Mixed Bags! yay

Come one, come all, share your daily thoughts, conversational chit-chat, maybe a joke or two and all the little things that really don't need its own thread.

There are plenty of seats available, so don't be shy and come chat!

Good morning everyone,

It's raining quite heavily today so I may as well spend the day cleaning. We might cook our small turkey tonight if my husband feels like he could eat a big meal. It'll be good for another day or two so we can decide later.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Drac, so very sorry about your cat cry I've never had one, but a pet's a pet, no matter where they come from. yes

Well, almost ordered my window treatments yesterday. I'm working with JC Penny which was highly recommended to me by several friends. Found what I want for 3 windows all of which will have some kind of blinds. The rest, which are smaller will have curtains. I learned the company that bought out Penny's has changed it a lot which is why the measurers and installers are a separate phone call. They used to be employed by Penny but not any more. Also found out that the color and pattern options changed to plainer, and not everything shown or available in the store. Sales rep told me she always finds herself apologizing to customers about the lack of choices. For me, fewer choices help with making my decision; too many overwhelm me, Took 90 mins to look at everything and I was pooped. Now I just have to go online to look at other options for rest of windows (rods and look of curtains). Call to get final measurements done. Once I am ready, because I don't a Penny's charge card, I have to return to the store to submit full request and pay on a different charge card. Penny's was a frequent shopping place for me years ago until they stopped offering the kind of clothes I liked.

Next project is to update my handyman chores list. I have a few names to contact, hopefully someone or two will help with a few things. I can't do any of it myself. Getting those kind of chores done are the only thing I miss after being married to a handyman for 30 years. Finding someone has been a trip in itself. Could write a short book about it crazy

Looks like it's gonna be warm week, heading into 70s. Time to put a chair in my garage so I can sit outside for a while.

Life's a puzzle; one piece at a time.

Happy Easter!

Hubby and I were up early yesterday and headed up to the mountains for a hike. Then up even earlier this morning for a beautiful sunrise service. Headed out to a hill with 500 other folks to celebrate as the sun came up. Could not have gone if I had not had both shots.

Then home to send Happy Easter gifs to the kids followed by phone calls. It was cool this morning but supposed to be nice by the afternoon, so hoping to get out for a nice stroll this afternoon.

Drac, I am so very sorry about Voldemort

I hope you all have a most wonderful and blessed day

Had a nice Easter meal with my DIL's family yesterday afternoon. Our granddaughter was home on a VERY short leave from her Army base in Fort Stuart, Georgia. She is so thrilled to finally have graduated from her Intelligence Analyst training last month and have a permanent base. She was an A++ student in high school and could have gone to any university she wanted, but she wanted to join the Army after she graduated last summer! She is a striking 6' tall and fit as a human can be!

Have a wonderful Easter, everyone!

Thank you, Winfrey. It was pretty sad when I went up to the hayloft to feed the other barn cats yesterday.

It sounds like everyone but hagatha is having beautiful weather!

Happy Easter, everyone.

I did cook our turkey yesterday and we shared it with our friend and neighbour from across the road. He's been such a good friend to us through my husband's illness. They watch sports together and play darts and drink beer, and it gives my guy a sense of normal even when he's not feeling too well.

After we ate we watched a couple of episodes of Jeeves and Wooster, an old Hugh Laurie/Stephen Fry collaboration based on P.G. Wodehouse's books. It's silly and hilarious in the way that British humour can be.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Thanks Marian. wave It was very nice (some beautiful spring flowers were in bloom here in our desert), but it actually started to get a little hot, haha! So now we're back home in the nice air conditioning. grin

Happy Easter from here too! I took Nugget out for a few mile hike this morning after a few random acts of kindness on our local Buy Nothing Facebook page. If anyone is on Facebook I highly recommend that they check out there local Buy Nothing Group to give away things that are good but no longer needed. I gave away a one year old lawn mower (I have a service since my shoulder surgeries) to a kid looking to earn money for college in the fall. Made me quite happy! After that I went kayaking with my friends who is legally blind. We saw lots of minks, and a coyote hot on their trail. I love kayaking up a quiet creek because the wildlife pays no mind.

Kayaking on a stream sounds heavenly. Since they are so quiet, you can hear and see lots of things.

Sounds like everyone is enjoying their Easter and that's certainly a good thing! Here at my house everyday is the same - we don't do anything special or different on Holidays. However, the Easter Bunny decided to make a trip to my home anyway and he placed some Russell Stover Cream Eggs around my house while I was lazing out in bed laugh.

I'm late responding to the birthday wishes. Thanks so much. I got my second Covid shot on Thursday. They warned me I might have an unpleasant reaction since I had antibodies from having Covid last year. The reaction was supposed to occur about 12 hours later. I was expecting the worst but 12 hours later I felt fine. The next day was my birthday and I still felt fine and went out for breakfast, then played cards with friends. Aha, 36 hours later and I thought I had been run over by a very large truck. I laid on the couch and slept most of the day, then went to bed and slept all night. This morning I woke up my usual sunny self with no further ill effects. I guess the vaccine is worth one day of feeling really bad if it provides immunity.

Happy Easter! I opted not to decorate the golf cart and join the Easter Parade because every Holiday I buy decorations and get ready to go, it pours rain. In an effort not to jinx the parade for others, I watched from the sidelines. Sure enough, the day stayed beautiful and sunny from start to finish. I'm no scientific genius, but I think I may be onto something. Me + golf cart parades = stormy weather.

Happy to see you enjoyed your birthday ScarletDragon and that you survived your 2nd Vaccine shot, I am anxious to get my 1st one, still not at my age group yet, but soon I hope.
I hope everyone here had a good Easter despite the restrictions. Take care and stay safe everybody.
