A reviewer on Big Fish called this a child's game. I played it on Steam, and I assure you it is not a child's game! Some levels are very challenging. It's a fun way to pass some time.

I am glad you mentioned that, KatieB! Another player I know confirmed this, saying that the game started out easy and got more and more difficult. It's too bad that the graphics sort of look geared to children too, as that could also give the wrong impression. Thank you for spreading the word. wave

I think I paid for it on Steam. But not much. And certainly not $6.99.

I finished this game tonight. It was not a bad game at all. There are actually 140 levels. If I'm not mistaken they start you off with 3 available hints and 1 skip. You can buy more with in game points if you have enough points for them. There is also a walkthrough that I found quite helpful several times. I only skipped one level (#96) which required you to stop a moving line at a certain place on 4 different "lock tumblers". I was only able to get 2 of them. If you miss one it starts over. I tried for awhile and then skipped it. The hints were basically like skips as they didn't just point you on your way. They pointed out each step until you finished a puzzle.

I played the Steam version that is free. I don't know if it's different than the Big Fish version or not.

I tried the demo this morning - it's fun. Until I got to a level where you have to play basketball. I was never any good at basketball, and it's still true. I had to quit; and may or may not consider buying it.

Oldbroad, do you remember the basketball part of this game? I did not realize any dexterity was required with this game.

Tally Ho, is there a skip option for any of it?

Yes, I do remember the basketball part. It is timed. There are several manual dexterity/timed levels. Not too many, but one is enough to ruin a game. I was able to manage them all (eventually) except the aforementioned one with the lock.

Tally Ho, if you use Steam at all, just get it there. Nothing to lose since it's free. Just remember you need enough points to buy hints and skips though. Use those for the actiony parts and the walkthrough, if required, for the other parts.

One other thing. When you exit the game, it says that your progress has been saved. I never tested that out. There is a limited number of save slots. I'm not sure how many but I'll guess around 15.

Playing the Steam version.

Big difference - the demo from Big Fish apparently has no points or coins, as far as I can tell; and hints whenever you want. Not sure if there was an option to skip or not.

The basketball puzzle doesn't really require any skill, you just have to know what to do. Take the ball to the upper limit of the screen, and push it at the backboard. Five times in nine seconds is tight, but doable.

There's a walkthrough?

I don't know if this is the WT oldbroad used, but I found this one here.

Tally Ho - that's the walkthrough I used when I needed one. I hope you enjoy the game.

Finished it, and mostly enjoyed. Only had to skip one; the agility thing that poses as a lockpick problem. Maybe it's doable on an Ipad; not on my fast PC, that's for sure.

Also had to peek at the walkthrough a few times, but not too many.
There's a puzzle where you have to put the stained glass pieces in. If there's a pattern there, I can't see it.

p.s. Glad it was free; it is not something I would ever buy. Oh - and it's not entirely free: If you don't have sufficient points for hints or skips, you have to buy them from steam. Sneaky huh!

I'm glad you mostly enjoyed it Tally Ho. That lock pick puzzle is the one I skipped.

I also had some trouble with that stained glass window but eventually figured it out.

I would never actually "purchase" hints or skips. When I did run out of hints and didn't have enough points is when I searched for a walkthrough. Then I was able to build up more points to use when I needed them for puzzles the walkthrough couldn't get me through.

Oh, regarding the stained glass puzzle, I think I was thinking of a different one. There are 2 and both gave me trouble but that second one I'm pretty sure I looked at the walkthrough to see how it was supposed to look.
