We're having a beautiful sunny day, but it's very windy so boating is off the table.
We're starting to see a few yachts now, a couple of big ones, although we haven't had anything in the "superyacht" class go through here for a couple of years now. A marine site I use tracks vessels that have transponders, so it's fun to see yachts here and then a few months later look up where they are in the winter. A lot of them end up in the Mediterranean, of course.
Still no humpbacks, but a large pod of white-sided dolphins went by yesterday. They hung around for a while in one of the fishing holes nearby. They really are the most sociable and friendly of marine mammals. We've encountered them many times out on the water and they actually do rush over to say hello and hang out with you.

Hagatha, your place sounds like such an idyllic spot to live in. I can just picture what you are describing! Sorry the wind is preventing you from getting some boating in. Hi all, a quiet day spent with hubby and youngest son who is 'on shift' with us until Wednesday. He surprised us by cooking dinner. I really appreciated that as I had a very restless night last night with not much sleep. Thank goodness for my Kindle. I spent most of the night reading or playing my favourite word game. Mary

Had a wonderful day! My older son lives close by, but I've only seen him once in over a year! He came by to pick up my old office chair and stayed for a couple of hours. Then my friend Jennifer and her boyfriend came by to pick up a bunch of my left over tomato plants and stayed and talked for a couple of hours too! It was SOOOO nice! They said this was the first time they'd done that too.

I'll have to pass on the goodies this morning, but that'll leave more for everyone else! I have one of my favorites for breakfast... cold leftover pizza and black coffee! When my friend Jennifer left yesterday, it was already 6:00 and too late to start anything for supper, so Hubby just ran in town and picked up a couple pizzas.
Doing some last minute bedding laundry and cleaning before my sister and my nephew arrive tomorrow evening. They are heading out from NW Iowa to spend a few days down here - I haven't seen any of my Iowa family for 3 1/2 years and I'm SO excited!
Once again, weeds are my life!

Love pizza, just as much for breakfast. Nice to be able to start seeing relatives again!

We had leftover pizza for lunch AND dinner yesterday as neither of us felt like cooking. It has all the food groups anyway. We're lucky that the only place in town that delivers makes fantastic pizza.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

family, are these same shows on every day, even on the weekends? I was kind of wondering that, myself. I've never really been a daytime TV person, so I know nothing about any of these.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hubby had his second COVID jab yesterday. He was fine until the middle of the night when he woke up shivering, teeth chattering and with a pounding headache. Poor soul couldn't warm up at all. I, on the other hand, had trouble regulating my inner thermostat and was rather too warm. I gave him a couple of Paracetamol which dealt with the headache but it really took about an hour for him to warm up. He's fine today. I'm still waiting for a home visit for my 2nd jab.

Yay for your hubby! The second one is the one that really kicks in the immune system, so my hubby felt awful for about 12 hours too. Me, I had nothing with either one! I almost wish I HAD!
hagatha, I never watch daytime TV either, so I found it odd that the same shows are on every single day and even on the weekends! But since I don't watch, maybe they run 7 days a week. I would get bored - but then I'm someone who likes to be outside working if the weather permits.
I'm so excited that my sister and great nephew will be driving here from NW Iowa today! I haven't seen any of my Iowa family for 3 1/2 years - since my mom's funeral. They will be here for just a few days as Mason just graduated from high school and has to work this weekend. He's been working part time as a nurse's aide at the same nursing home my mom was in. I think he'll be working there full time before he heads off to the Univeristy of South Dakota for a nursing degree this fall.
Once again, weeds are my life!

Must be a bagel day, I had a cheese bagel with cream cheese!
Looking forward to my second covid jab in June, not looking forward to the side effects.

Rain, rain and more rain! I would LOVE to get into my flower beds to pull weeds, Chief! Not gonna happen today though! But I have my sister and great-nephew visiting from NW Iowa, so we're going to go bumming around anyway.

Hey all, with any luck at all, I'll get this dang boot off my foot tomorrow. Then it's straight to the chiropractic to start putting me back together again. Had my annual appt with neurologist for my Sleep Apnea. She noticed change in sleep habits since boot has been on. Increased my air flow a bit. It's 9:50 am and, though tired, my brain is working well enough to do computer stuff. That's an hour earlier than usual. My dog's health is deteriorating a bit again. He's still happy and relatively energetic but slowing down. Twice now, when dancing around eager to get to his food bowl, his front legs fold under him and his jaw hits the floor. First time was when the day care taxi brought him home and, before the driver could reach in to help him out, he jumped out of the cage and landed jaw first on the driveway. Other day, after driver got him into the house, and removed the leash, he turned around fast and same thing happened. The whole thing takes just a few seconds. No blood, recovers fast like nothing happened. He will not get up on the couch anymore. He looks like he wants to but is afraid to try. But he gets close enough, I can lean down and lift him up onto the couch. When he's home, his favorite and safest place is his own bed. Though I try not to think about it too much, I'm a realist, and am slowly preparing myself for what I will need to do for him as the disease progresses. Drac, enjoy your trip!
