Another mixture of new/recycled disemvowellings… [Linked Image]

Remove one vowel from the first answer to give the second. Do not rearrange any of the remaining letters. If necessary, remove any hyphens or inverted commas as needed. (And remember it was compiled by a Brit!)

Eg. Organ/male deer (heart/hart).

-1. West Side Story character / South American rodent
-2. Reddish-brown colour / person or thing of enormous size or strength
-3. Proceed in a side to side manner / a swell, surge, or rush, as of feeling or of a certain condition
-4. Dark-haired male / full force
-5. Pointed projection / unpleasant odour
-6. Formal statement of beliefs / quality of being worthy of respect
-7. Exalt in an extreme way / resist
-8. Annoyed / assign a position
-9. 15th letter of the Greek alphabet / millionth part of a metre
-10. Worth / low area between two higher-elevation landmasses

To waste one second of one's life is a betrayal of one's self.
I wonder what's on television...?

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

Rog, for #3 were you looking for waver/ wave? Weave and waver are synonymous so either works. duh

manxman, michele - nice ones! smile

See your point, Cheryl - I was thibking of "weave" as a verb meaning to move forward from side to side, and "wave" as a noun meaning a large amount of something, but yes, they could be regatded as synomyms
