Yeah, had to do this with my kitty that has crystals in her urine. Had to do the kitty burrito thing. Hubby was the only one strong enough to hold her tightly while I did the syringe. There was no way she would eat the food with it in there. I did have some luck with putting small amounts of the medication in water from a tuna can and giving it to another cat several times a day.

oldbroad, I would see if the vet has a shot they give her or even a mild sedative that would allow you to do what you need to. I'm sorry you are struggling with her.

I agree with Ana and Marian. If nothing works, call your vet back. I'm sure this isn't the first time they've run into this.

Things may be totally different in this office than they were 20 years ago. Do you know if they gave her an antibiotic injection at the office? If they did, that may be why she seems to be better. If they didn't, things will only get worse. I speak from bitter experience.

Yay, coffee. If it weren't for the thought of coffee I'd never get up, some mornings. The last couple of days have been a bit of a shemozzle for me, running around doing errands on very little sleep. My husband will be going back on chemo soon, since the oncologist thinks that will help with pain reduction. I managed to get an appointment together for someone to come here and administer his second shot as soon as possible so we don't have to worry too much about going to the hospital. I also finally got another big pile of clothing off to the consignment store, really lovely things, mostly from my working days, that have been hanging around in my closet for far too long. I had my local friends cruise through the pile first to grab anything they wanted and then packed up the rest. Now I have some room in my closet so I can do a very thorough look at what's left. My aim is a 50% reduction in clothing. I really don't need five silk shirts, living here. I still have a pile of things I dearly love but really should get rid of. Next I'll be going through my books. In days gone by I would keep everything, but I have a lot of books that I'll never read again and they're cluttering up the basement.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

hagatha, you are not alone with books in your basement. But the two sons do not mind to take a good pile of them. And I have pictures of oncles, grand parents........ And clothes of all sort.....that I do not ware. And whatever we keep for nothing. I started to get rid of them. The basement seems to be bigger now. Have a nice day and to everybody also.

Chief, the bigger the basement, the more "stuff" there is! Luckily, I don't have a basement in this old farmhouse, just a cellar for the furnace and water heater!

Can you just call the vet and ask? It might be important to know in case he can't get the whole prescription in her - otherwise, you'll just be doing the whole thing again!
