The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

10. Green is the odd one. The others are primary, at least in printing.

Fil, Lady K, jarkeld, flotsam - all good ones! grin

flotsam - couldn't agree more. That guy has done some tremendous stuff, especially Vietnam and the American Civil War praise

Remi - not bread I'm afraid - the answer is slightly more bizzare think

3. According to Google, the answer is salt and pepper. The granules can get into eyes and equipment.

I'm confused. I thought the question had to do with eating before even getting into the space shuttle. Does that mean they eat on board before lift off?

Life's a puzzle; one piece at a time.

Apologies, butterflybabe - I'll kill this one as it is based on out-of-date information.

In 1964 a US Dept of Agriculture researcher recommended that NASA ban austronauts from eating any flatulence-inducing foods (such as beans, cabbage, sprouts and broccoli) before a space flight. This was because the gas that was produced presented an increased fire risk, and that risk peaked at 5-6 hours after consumption.

NASA apparently ignored him...
