To me, Emerald City Confidential is much more adventure than casual.

It seems that Echoes of Sorrow was developed by Blitpop Games. The game on Tim's list that I know of that was developed by Dave Gilbert of Wadjet Eye is Emerald City Confidential.

Ob, I agree that Emerald City is adventure lite, maybe not even lite; but being as it was produced by Playfirst, the developer of Diner Dash and other hugely successful casual games, it ended up being sold/directed at the casual games market. Unfortunately all of Playfirst's casual games were removed from the Big Fish website many years ago, but fortunately I have many of them.

I don't know where I got the idea the Echoes of Sorrow was related to Wadjet. First Wadjet was created in 2006 and Echoes didn't come out until 2011. It's developer is no longer with us, even though the publisher, Alawar Games is still alive and kicking. Got my wires crossed somehow. Which unfortunately happens with increasing frequency as I tack on the years.

Looked into Epic:Wishmaster. It is no longer for sale by any reputable source. However, it is available from BFG "if" you purchased your copy from them originally. It's just not available a a new purchase. HOWEVER, if you are successful downloading it from BFG, you may still be out of luck unless you can find an obsolete version of some of the drivers it requires. Too bad! This is/was a great game that definitely deserves a remake.

I'm adding "Lost Lands : Stories of the First Brotherhood [CE]"

Very much an "adventuring" game and with a good story 👍👍👍

Thanks for your list Tim.

Quick question: Am looking for the name of a game. Can't find a "name that game" thread. Where should I post the question.

I would just post it in the What Casual Games Are You Playing Right Now? thread.

These days, a Google search is so intuitive courtesy of AI that a "name the game" enquiry may be worth a shot there.

Meanwhile if you want a very silly but addictive little free/cheap platformer, try CATO: buttered cat🐈

Thanks, Lex!

You have to love the name buttered cat Lex.

I agree SQF!😸

Pandora has lured me into the Artisan of Glimmith which is a gentle but tricky series of puzzles somewhat reminiscent of the childhood learning game of fitting different shapes into the appropriate slots, as you repair stained glass windows: quite a long game overall, but the individual screens make good casual gaming.

I am quite surprised that she does not seem to have already been enthusing about it on GB.

I believe I saw Pandora Sue mentioning this game in one of the threads in the Garden. It sounds like a very pleasant game.

She did mention it briefly in the Garden, and that was enough to whet my appetite!

Lex.
