Always a treat to hear good news from Jonathan @ Darkling Room. With darker nights closing in, Darkling Room is pleased to welcome back Matt (programmer) to game work after a busy Summer Graverobbing (archaeology). Looking ahead, this is our Winter release and work schedule: š¹Incubus - done and ready, eyeing the 8th or 10th Nov, not long! A 360 ghost hunt around a location investigated by Darkling Room for nearly 20 years. Check out the trailer here.āļø Silent Night - Release likely during Winter, not before Xmas. Nigelās stand-alone adventure at Northfield is now point and click style, with a wealth of locations and puzzles, four time zones, and some TLC regulars to keep Nigel company. šBlackenrock - Matts got a plan āļø . Time to focus on getting that game fixed and out, itās looking and sounding very much like a Crown game. Thereās a recent clip on YouTube, taking a look around the very atmospheric āHighwayman Innā Here.š¦ Lammana - Iām signing that game for proper publishing; it started small, but grew to be my fave #gamedev so far. Worth getting right. #indiedev Check out the trailer here.Incubus - a ghost hunters tale Big presentation over, time to get back to my demon⦠down on Dread Pit Road š¹ š» š¹ Nearly there too. http://www.darklingroom.co.uk/incubus/Sometimes work eats my time, itās good work too, but thereās nothing like releasing a new game, especially when fans and adventure aficionados first load up, not quite knowing what to expect, and send me a phone pic of the game on their screen. I donāt like to give too much away (no previews), but most know they can expect a satisfying story and a good adventure experience. Working today, tonight, tomorrow to get ready, likely falling asleep on the keyboard a couple of times. š¤ Lots of work goes into making a game, big or small, with āIncubus - a ghost hunters taleā being no different. From gfx, to programming (a lot on this one, thanks Matt!), inventory, cutscenes, acting! Yeah, it was a lot of work but Iām glad to have a new style of game to my collection, starting with Dark Fall in 2001, through to 3rd person indie hit āThe Lost Crownā. I donāt make games for a living, never have, so any games Iāve made are made with passion, dedication and a hint of madness. The game will be coming to Steam, other stores too, but we are also releasing a special version on our store. This version will ALSO come with a Steam Key. It will be the best version, all round. News to follow. š“āā ļø Please donāt share the game, download illegal and unauthorised copies, or promote where to get the game without paying. Support for games by Darkling Room means more games will get made, finished and released. Please also leave a Steam review, no need for an essay, but a good score means good visibility. Leaving reviews of previous Darkling Room titles is also appreciated. š Thanks, Jonathan Boakes Darkling Room Happy Gaming!

Although I agree with you, oldbroad about not liking all the gadgets, I did enjoy Ghost Vigil. But half the time I never knew if I was using the right gadget!

Spot on, oldbroad. I'm not sure if I will ever replay it because learning all the gadgets was such an effort.

Thanks, Ana. I agree a little too much gadgets but I did like the game.

I also do not care for all those gadgets, that is the main reason for not playing ghost vigil! My opinion is: there should be some kind of reward system in these games that will give one more paranormal insight in the ghost world, so that one aquires more capability's while playing. Instead of all those gadgets. The ghost will than have some more privacy as well! Rob

I still haven't caught up with these games - I'm totally in the "too many gadgets" camp I want to invest my time in stories and puzzles rather than in learning how to use such a multitude of "gadgets" Because there always IS an intriguing story within the games

What have I missed here. It was said that Incubus was ready and would be out by the 10th. Do we have a release date change? No doubt Steam has the game

I posted the update a few posts above yours. When it gets released, it gets released and I'll be announcing it shortly thereafter (when I'm not out working).

Well I am sorry for asking Ana but I still don't see anything about a release that Jonathon stated was "eyeing the 8th or 10th Nov". I meant no harm here. I was not blaming you for no release. I was just asking a question, maybe just making a statement. Have a nice day

In the update I posted from the 10th, he states "Working today, tonight, tomorrow to get ready, likely falling asleep on the keyboard a couple of times" Which means he was not going to make the 10th and likely the weekend into next week. Matt and Jonathan have a lot of work they do for TV (the Time Team) and other projects that pull them away. Plus they enjoy a day off to enjoy friends and family as well. It's the life of an indie developer without a studio of staff behind them to do the work.

As you say, Ana, they will release it when they release it and when they do, you will as always make sure we here at GB are the first to know. I know how many requests you get from developers about announcements and how hard it can be to juggle them, make the developers happy and try to keep up with your own life! THANK YOU!
