John's friend and colleague is putting together a tribute video comprising short videos from people all over the world who knew him. I want to do one, too, but I have no idea how.

Any help would be appreciated. I'd be using my computer, of course, with its camera and mic.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Have you checked to see if your existing built-in webcam has software that would allow you to do this? I have no idea, but maybe try this...

Click on the “Start” button and then scroll down to select “Camera” from the list of apps. ...
When the camera opens, click on the video camera icon and when you’re ready, click on the circular camera button to begin the recording.
When you’re done, click on the circular button again to stop the recording.

EDIT: I tried it on my Surface Pro tablet and it worked! I don't know what quality it would be, but the option to record a video was there. Not sure how you'd save it from there, but I'm sure there is a way.

Hi hagatha and Draclvr, when you Stop the video, at the very bottom right of the video screen you will see a small picture frame and if you Hover your mouse over it, it will say Camera Roll, click on it and another screen pops up, then click on the 3 dots on the Top Right of the Screen and then click on Open Folder and it will bring you to the Video(s) you just made, oh I almost forgot, when you Stop the Video it automatically saves the video.

I hope I explained this OK, my writing is not the best.

Makes perfect sense to me!

I did discover that you may have to reverse the camera... the default seems to be taking video of something else instead of yourself.
