The following clues form a word chain. The last three letters of one word or phrase form the first three letters of the next word, and the list wraps round from the last word to the first. Mostly straightforward with the odd toughie, but there may be one or two hyphenated words, alternative spellings or short phrases in there, and remember it was compiled by a Brit. Quite a few there, so feel free to grab two or three -1. Steal purloin -2. Pig-like noise oink -3. Basis of the Rorschach test ink-blot -4. Yoga position lotus -5. Vigorous or determined contest tussle -6. Integral part of railway track sleeper -7. Tree of the genus Diospyros bearing astringent plum-like fruit persimmon -8. Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.
