Have you noticed this on Big Fish? I just noticed it a few day ago but wasn't sure if it included non-members. It does! I just bought 5 Match 3 games for $3.00 each. Pretty good deal I'd say! wave

I did notice that new deal, and it's great that it's good for nonmembers too! Glad to hear you were able to take advantage of that. I will probably use it at some point. Nice to be able to add to the match 3 collection. yes

For anyone interested, here is the page about the Monster Bundle.

Thanks for putting the link Marian! It is something nice for us non-members! I think I have all those games in the other categories lol , but this is something to keep an eye on as apparently it will change periodically.

Yes, I will definitely be keeping an eye on it, too!

I don't have all the games in the other categories, but I do have an embarrassingly large number of them. blush

Thanks very much to you both 😑

As a non-member this looks to me like a very inviting offer.

I will investigate 👍

Now the Monster Bundles are gone ??? I thought it was going to be an ongoing thing that changed here and there. That was how I read it anyway. I hope they just interfere with the BOGO sale and come back later or maybe they're changing the bundles already. duh

It's probably something they plan on offering periodically, like the bonus points days that come around every so often.

It's back. And at the top of the page it says:

Quote
Update! This Monster Bundle offer will be inactive from September 1st through September 4th, 2023.

It's a little late for that message, but better late than never.

LOL! You know I wrote to Big Fish asking if this was for everybody (not just members) about 2 days before I tried it and made my purchase and never received any response after the initial auto response. Just saying!

It used to be that in order to hear back from them you had to reply to the initial auto response so that they would know that you still needed help. Not sure if this is still the case or not. Will check it out next time I write to them.

I double checked the email and it said to reply above the line if I had additional information. It did not sound like I was supposed to reply if I was just waiting for an answer. I may be wrong though.

Well, somebody's ears were ringing at Big Fish. I just received a reply an hour ago to my 8/24 inquiry but it did not answer my question. It says "We have forwarded your request for review and will get back to you as soon as we can. " I wouldn't have thought this was that hard of a question to answer. I'm glad I decided to just try it out. wink

Hi, Marian!

Thanks for the heads up because I don't check the Monster Bundles that often. According to my Purchase History, I already have 3 of the games in the Halloween Stories bundle, so I'll see what the other 3 are like.

You are welcome, Susan! This is the first time the Monster Bundles have changed since they started this, so I wanted to let people know.

Thanks Marian! I've been trying to remember to check it everyday. Of course, I have every single one of those HOPA games (except Gloomy Tales by Domini) and nary a one of them has been played. wink I don't have any of the time management games because I don't play those. How are you set on those?

I have a few of the time management games including The Unexpected Quest, although I would not describe that game as time management. You would have to try the demo for yourself, but I would describe it more as a top-down adventure game with strategy elements based on what little of it I have played.

I have all the Halloween Stories games as well as the Domini game, but I haven't played them all yet. I also have all the Tales of Terror games except for Demon Hunter V, and haven't played all of those either. whistle

Oops, I've told a fib there. I have played the first 3 Halloween Stories games. blush

So, will you be "bundling" up on any of the time management games?

The Bundles changed!

I'm sure I'll be purchasing from the "Tricks and Treats Bundle" section. I already own all of the games in the other two categories. smile

I really ought to play one of my Halloween games this month. I've bought several over the years but never started any yet shame

The Bundles changed again today. I didn't make any purchases last time and probably won't this time either. I have all the Haunted Hotel and Fear for Sale games. Slim pickins for me from the last bundle. I'd be reaching to find 5 games.

I just saw it had changed again. I have all the Fear for Sale and Haunted Hotel games also. There are some good games listed in the third group, quite a few of which I already have.

You play Time Management games. I don't. And, I don't buy the solitaire games either. I could scrounge up 5 games but I'm not sure I will. We'll see.

Thanks for the laugh because your response to oldbroad just cracked me up lol!

I'm off to check out the new Monster Bundles and, hopefully, this time I'll find enough that I don't already have.

I am glad you liked it, Susan! After I posted that, I thought maybe a lot of people wouldn't get the reference because they aren't old as dirt like I am. grin

It changed yesterday. Every two weeks seems to be when it changes, at least for now. I haven't found anything to purchase since the first one though.

Thanks! That is a great price for a Nancy Drew games bundle.

There is a nice Flashback sale today where if you are a Club member a whole bunch of HOPA CEs are $5.99 each. I got two games over the weekend, though, so I will not be buying anything.

Only 2 games over the weekend Marian? I had to place 2 different orders again as they only allow you to buy 10 games at a time. wink

I would go for the Nancy Drew games since I only have them all on disc BUT I don't see the sense in buying them just because they are downloads, if they don't work on newer systems. I know they supposedly work but I don't feel comfortable about it since I am still only on my first playthrough of the the series. Also, I don't like that games 2 and 20 are not available. I understand 2 is very old but 20 was taken off the shelves for a very stupid reason (my opinion)! I enjoyed that game and didn't see anything wrong with it at all!

I completely agree with you about Nancy Drew game #20. I think the only reason it was removed was because Penny Milliken (HeR Interactive CEO) was making a pathetic attempt to try to appear relevant. rolleyes Stay Tuned for Danger has sound issues on a lot of newer computers so that does not get offered anywhere but the company for a download (there is, by the way, a simple solution to fix the sound issue for those who have them - a neat little freeware program called Virtual Audio Cable). You can find videos on YouTube showing that all the ND games can be played on Windows 10/11, but not sure if they are all running off the CDs. I have all the original CDs but also have the downloads from Big Fish just so as to save wear and tear on my CDs.

Yes, only two games over the weekend. I showed great restraint, and those two games I had points for so there was no monetary expenditure this past weekend either. It sounds like you made out like a bandit. grin praise

Big Fish doesn't show Windows 10 for any of them except the last four or so. I will have to check out that Virtual Audio Cable.

Every time I think I've bought every game available, I find some more. lol

It's probably for the best that Big Fish excludes Windows 10 and 11 from their Nancy Drew download pages. Even though they could all work, there would no doubt be people who had issues and Big Fish isn't about to troubleshoot all of that, understandably.

Unfortunately, that Virtual Audio Cable looks way to complex for me!

I think it sounds more complicated than it really is. I have referred several people to it so that they could play STFD without the sound error and they all said it worked. And as far as I know, they did not have any particular technical knowledge. I will take a look at it again one of these days.

Well Marian, after looking at some Big Fish reviews with some people having trouble with some of the Nancy Drew games, and looking on Her Interactive and seeing problems, and seeing that Gamehouse says The White Wolf of Icicle Creek doesn't play in Windows 10, and knowing I'll probably never get around to playing them all much less replaying them all, I still went for the deal! I keep thinking how I fought downloads before but now I fight with CD's and then I was looking on one of my shelves with Nancy Drew and other games on it that is in an awkward place for me to access and how lazy I am, and how this certainly isn't the first time I may be wasting money on games and will probably not be the last, so what the heck. I had actually been thinking of replaying the first game in my XP but I don't think the optical drive in it is working anymore. I have not turned it on for awhile though to confirm. The second game, Stay Tuned for Danger, is available at Allvideo so that's an option also if I do decide to start replaying the series. Big Fish allowed me to buy all the games in one order (not just 10 like in the BOGO sales) so I also went for the two Casual games (which I also have on disc) even though they did not get the price reduction to $3.00, but did have the 30% discount. Overall, even with the tax added, they were all under $3.50 each.

duh What can I say?

It looks like the bundles changed again today. I am afraid to look! I have already spent more than double what I usually spend during one credit card statement period and there are still two weeks before it closes.

I need help !

What a relief. I'm kind of tempted by some of the Park Ranger games but am going to ignore them for the time being.

I only have one of those and one of the Cruise ones (from when they gave them away free in 2020). I haven't even tried either of them yet.

I find them to be pleasant, relaxing HOP games - hidden object games with some easy puzzles. If you like one, you will probably like them all, as they are all very similar.

Bundles are not showing today so I guess that means a BOGO sale. My CC statement still hasn't closed so I guess I need to have patience and wait for the next BOGO. I do have some games I'm looking to buy. smile

I caved in the last hour but am concerned about the number of points I received. I bought 4 CE's and 2 SE's, total of $49.95. I received 649 points. ??? I know sometimes they give away more points but I don't see anywhere on the site that this was the case right now. I also didn't see any sale banner on the site, but I had received an email regarding it. My order receipt is correct. Any idea?

Well, as someone who is not a Game Club member you are supposed to get 1% cash back, correct? And it looks like buying anything today, Monday, will give you bonus points. Did you place the order late enough that it was after midnight here on the West Coast? If so, you might have ended up taking advantage of both yesterday's and today's offer.

It was just after 11 pm here in Chicago. How do you know there are bonus points today? As mentioned, I am not seeing banners or notifications on the site. I just signed in to look, and no email either. Is the bonus points receiving 100 extra points per game purchased? If so, maybe I did just luck out there (which will prove that it's good to cave in to the sales)! lol

When I got up this morning, there was a banner on the website about bonus points today. When I open up the Game Manager, it says, "bonus points today!" I see it as a banner on the website now too, but I had to hit refresh once or twice before it came up. I am thinking that maybe they plugged that into the system last night before you ordered the games - it seems like the likely explanation unless it's a glitch, in which case I would just consider myself lucky. bunny

Thank you, Marian! I still am not seeing anything on the site even though I have refreshed and I also signed in with my other account. I do see it though when I open my game manager. I never open the manager except to download games. I guess I'll have to start doing that. I'm assuming there was an overlap and am quite happy now that I caved in!

While we're "talking", are you quite sure that they fixed that problem they had with owning a huge number of games? I have made my last few purchases on my first account that I had stopped using because you said that issue has been fixed. Of course, now I have points on two different accounts.

I do really like that they now show "you own this game". That's the best change they made.

I like that change, too - you own this game is straightforward and makes it very simple.

Yes, they definitely fixed the problem with the Purchase History and large numbers of games. I can't say 100% that there will never be problems in the future (no one can guarantee that), but I too have added games to my original account since they fixed this issue. That to me is the best change they made overall, that of fixing this large Purchase History issue.

New bundles today. I haven't looked at them yet but I see one section is Art by Numbers. I will probably pick a few up. I have one of them that I've been working on at night before bed along with a Pop Art game and the My Needlework games.

Yes, I was just looking at it. The Fantasy bundle has some older CE games that not everyone will have in their collection already. Nice to see the variety.

Nice to be able to pick up some Art by Numbers at a good price. smile

In the Fantasy Bundle (other than the time management games) the only three I don't have are Enchantment: Secret Hideaway and the two remastered Awakening games. I have (and have played/enjoyed) the original Awakening games on disc only. They are still installed on my Win 7.

In the Mystery Case files games, there are six that I only have on disc but they are not worth me re-purchasing. Two are SE's that can be bought cheaper in a BOGO (and one of those I would probably never replay again), two don't work with Win 10 or 11 as far as I've seen, one I have replayed and probably will never replay again. That leaves only The 13th Skull which is still installed on my Win 7. I have played it once. They had the MCF games in a bundle not too long ago.

I know of only one MCF game that does not work on Windows 10 and that is Dire Grove. II haven't tried any of them on Windows 11 yet.

I thought the two remastered Awakening games were great. I also enjoyed the originals very much.

Big Fish reviewers say Dire Grove doesn't work in Win 11 either. I heard Shadow Lake uses Flash. I really don't know about either of the games first hand - just repeating what I've read.

I'm considering the Awakening games but I'm not sure yet.

I would have assumed that Dire Grove wouldn't work in Windows 11, just because the buck stopped with Windows 10, unfortunately.

Someone on a Reddit forum said two months ago that Shadow Lake is working fine on their Windows 10 computer. I have read several such confirmations, so it seems hopeful.

Big Fish does show Shadow Lake plays on Win 10. I don't know. I had meant to try it in my Win 7 as it is still installed there but I never did get around to it.

I had thought I read somewhere that some games that didn't work on Win 10 did work on Win 11 though. Again, I don't know.
