I saw a 4K restoration of Seven Samurai yesterday as part of a Kurasawa festival at a movie house not too far away. I had never seen it on a big screen before so that was a treat in itself. Its been a while since I last saw it, but give or take a thread or two I thought it stood up remarkably well. As a stand alone film I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it certainly deserves its place in the pantheon of great films.

I had fun with Black Doves SQF A earler series by the same creator called Giri / Hadji is well worth a watch too.

I also watched the season finale of Yellowstone. I was reading something last week about the series causing a lot of the same kinds of problems the Duttons were trying to avoid... tourism.

I think I'll start re-watching The Shield. It's one of my favourite shows of all time, ranking up there with The Sopranos and The Wire and Ozark.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I will have to try the shield: I missed that one. Currently just started on Dexter, Original Sin a promising looking prequel and still working through a complete rewatch of Yellowstone before getting to the new season. While I am here, season's greetings to all (repeated on some other threads) https://jlcards.com/NG1Ge1

The Ken Burns docos are excellent SQF. I might have to binge one (the baseball one maybe). Either that or watch The Sopranos, a series I have never seen

Flotsam, The Sopranos is great fun: you should probably give that a try! We are currently enjoying Dalgleish, back for an all too brief season: relatively tame, but nicely done. As a matter of possible interest, I have been given Yellowstone Monopoly, although I have yet to open the box...

Dune Prophecy is on my list, but probably one to grab in small bites while I wait for Mrs Lex to join me to watch something more up her street, such as The Serial Killer's Wife...!

Dan, no surprise as men are of course from Mars, while women are from Venus...

Just saw the new Nosferatu - a very good piece of gothic horror, and an excellent remaking of the original. Plus it was on IMAX which certainly packs a punch ps - am enjoying the Sopranos so far
