I'm having trouble finding anything to do other than die . Edit: Oh, I did find some other places to go and even solved a puzzle

I'm having trouble finding anything to do other than die . Going through my emails of posts, sipping on my coffee and saw your verbage and thought it was a post in the mixed bags break room. Scared the bejeezus out of me! So relieved to see it's about a game! Ana

There will be some more puzzles oldbroad but based on where I am at there certainly aren't a lot. The conundrums around finding and using items are more prevalent, but I think overall the balance of the various threads (exploring/puzzling/inventory/shooting) is rather good.

I'm catching up with some oldies at the moment, and currently play Secret Files: Tunguska. I absolutely LOVE it. I honestly wasn't expecting that much from this game, but I find it almost impeccable. The puzzles are almost always complex, and requires use of multiple inventory objects, but they can always be solved with a little patience and quite a lot of pixel hunting (of which both suit me just fine). And they're never illogical, albeit far-fetched at times, but that's OK, and most of the times just funny. I constantly get stuck, but always get that rewarding feeling of fulfilment when I manage to proceed. The story arc is very run-of-the-mill, and I could have written it myself after two bottles of wine, but the dialogue is exceptionally well-written and often hilarious. Yesterday, I laughed out loud at this line exchange: - I've given you my promise as a politician. - Yes, but can you help me anyway? And the best of all: There are 3 sequels to this game. This reminded me that it's time to replay these great games. I just finished the 1st one, and when I was downloading the 2nd one from GOG, I happened to see that all 4 of the games are now on sale for $ 0.99 each. A real bargain for these great games.

I have Tunguska on disc, but wasn't able to start it on Windows 11 or 10 (to no surprise). So I also bought it from GOG for for $ 0.99. When I went back the day after to buy the rest of the games, they were all up to for $ 10.99 though. But it was still worth it (of course) since they've obviously made some graphical improvements since the disc versions. I'm on the second game now, Puritas Cordis, and enjoying it just as much as the first one.

Right now - I have 4 games but I am not working on them I am sad to say.. I finished Discolored 1, which was pretty good so I thought the 2nd one would be good too - but it got stale pretty quickly- all that changing color pieces etc etc ( no spoilers ) I just gave up. I also have 3 Minutes to Midnight partially done - just too much dialog and the dreaded ( for me ) dialog trees ...so I just shelved it for now.. Then I went to Fatal Illusion -- it started out ok but it too got stale with repeat dialog and dialog trees etc etc so that is on hold too !! I guess the game I am playing now is .... trying to figure out what game to play next ? I always look forward to Mikael's Carol Reed games but, in the meantime, I will be searching ..... searching... searching !

While I understand your reservations about the game, I actually found the game quite stylish and congruent with the Cluedo style. (For those of you who don't know, it's based on the Cluedo franchise). I totally agree about both 3 Minutes to Midnight and Discolored though. I was a beta tester for Discolored 1 BTW. If you're searching for an excellent game without any dialog trees whatsoever, I heartily recommend Call of the Sea.

Hi Mikael - I did play Call of the Sea and I enjoyed it very much - actually, one of my favorites ! The puzzles were really good and plentiful - an overall joy to play ! I just may go back and finish Fatal Illusion, and bear with the dialog OR I was thinking about playing Murder Malady on my Windows PC this time - I MAC BETA tested it previously - Loved it !
Hmmm - coin flip - but leaning towards Murder Malady! :>))

I finished Mindlock: The Apartment two nights ago. It's an interesting enough game and the puzzles are also interesting, but it never did manage to pull me in exactly. There were some echoes of my own life in there. With the release of Rosewater today, I was looking back at the other games by the same developer, all of which I've had for years but haven't yet played, so I think my next game will be A Golden Wake which came out in 2014. Eleven years already?? What have I been doing??
