My sister in law had to evacuate from the Jones Fire in New Jersey. Thankfully she was allowed to return home and all is well. Praying they get the fire contained and no one is affected.

Ana, I live in Ocean County, but the fire is about 10-15 miles southwest of me. As of this morning, it's 80% contained and has burned over 15,300 acres. No lives nor homes were lost, but an awning company that backed up to the wildlife preserve was destroyed. A man has been arrested for starting the fire by setting a bonfire to burn wooden pallets and then not putting it out properly.
Here comes the sun. Here comes the sun, and I say, "It's too darn hot!"

LadyK, you know my sister in law, she was the one who drove to check on you when the hurricanes came through and no one could reach you. The fire was a mile away from her when they evacuated. So many woods around there and their lot is heavily wooded as well. It's so sad people don't have brains when they do stuff like that.

OMG! I forgot about that! Tell her thank you from me.
One of the guys who is renovating my small bathroom was also evacuated because of the fire. He showed me the arial view of the burn, which stopped less than a mile from his house.

I read they found the guy who started the fire using satellite images and GPS.

That Texas flooding is horrible. Children are missing from a summer camp. Such devastation.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I thought one of the American authority figures who was featured on BBC TV worded his comments very well when he said that some of those people unaccounted for (to date) could perhaps just not be able to make contact rather than actually be considered as “lost”. I don’t know if that is still relevant as I haven’t seen the news today. Whatever, it is an awful situation
