Lighting the candles in the inner square but not the outer square and moving them around on a conveyor built sounds familiar; I think this puzzle was in a Daily Magic game I played. I do remember hitting the skip button.

That "meeting place" to swap inventory items - I remember thinking that game mechanic sounded a bit tedious. But maybe I won't mind it when I try to play the game.

I have encountered the lighting candles puzzle a couple of times but I don't remember in what games. I think one might have been an adventure ? Anyway, I don't know if I ever was able to do it.

I think the Daily Magic game might have been Dark Dimensions: Somber Song. It might also stick in my mind because a couple of screens after that I had to stop playing the game altogether - the game appeared to have an issue with my video card/drivers at that time. Restarting the game did not help. Someone else told me they had the same problem in the same place.

Maybe I will try it again this year because it's been years since that happened and now I would be playing on a different computer.

I've never played that game so that's not where I saw it.

Oh, unfortunately, my not being able to cope with “time devouring traipsing” is due to health issues, Marian.
I have a damaged disc in my spine and the older I am getting the worse it is becoming - such that sitting in one position for any prolonged length of time is just no longer possible.

I would just like to rant, even though this is not the place - it's about the latest BFG app. A while ago, an improved version 'remembered' your last setting for 'Sort by:' such as Most Recently Played or Game Title. That was a big improvement over the previous updates, where it always started with Game Title. Now they have made a recent update, where I suspect they unwittingly picked up some code from a previous version; resulting in starting with "Game Title" no matter where you left off. It is a real nuisance when you want to pick up in a game you exited yesterday.

I don't like what these settings default to either, Tally Ho.

In my Game Manager for example, in the Purchase History, it always defaults to Order Date and every single time I find myself changing it to Game Title. It is not that big of a deal but I do find it kind of annoying.

I have Marian's problem with the default but I'm not sure I understand what you are doing, Tally Ho. Do you open the game manager to play the game? Don't you use a desktop icon?

Actually I do either method; but the stubbornness in me wants the game manager to get it right. (That means what the player wants; not what the programmers think the player wants.) They had it right, then they had to go and 'fix' it.

My understanding of the Game Manager update is that it in large part had to do with security updates. In other words, improvements that are invisible.

I finished The Dark Hills of Cherai: The Regal Scepter which was pretty good. Sometimes tedious and not all of the puzzles were to my liking but there were some different ones. I skipped two of them.

I have played about 1-1/2 hours of Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town today and I like it quite a bit so far.

I have played Alien Town more than once. I like it very much and will probably play it again at some point.

It sounds like Cherai was worth playing overall.

Just finished Grim Chronicles Superior Sorcery CE. Not bad; I always enjoy multi-game series that use the same characters over.

I have started a game called Quern, Undying Thoughts. I can't think what the genre is called, but it's somewhere between an adventure and a purely puzzle game. No characters or dialogue, just exploring and solving - might go on the same shelf as Riven.

I loved Quern except for one puzzle that I couldn't solve.

Now started "Dying for Daylight".

It's a vampire story - which I'm liking so far - but am not finding manipulation of "objects" easy

Mad, that is a good game but please play with the knowledge that it is incomplete.

I too liked Dying for Daylight, but yes unfortunately there were no sequels. Still worth playing, though.

It is incomplete with no ending. As Marian said, it is still worth playing, especially since you already have the game, but just play knowing that.

Apparently there was supposed to be another game to follow but it never materialized. I didn't want to spoil the game for you but I know I don't like that particular type of surprise which is why I mentioned it.

I am replaying Forbidden Secrets: Alien Town. Such a good game.
