At 83 and after more than 30 years of living alone, I still cook most of my meals from scratch - as I always did for my Husband and family - even whilst also holding down a responsible job.
(Don’t know where I got the energy !! 😑)

But now I no longer keep the same “totally” stocked larder or make my own bread every week OR do all the weekly pie and cake baking I used to do.
I just ensure my fridges and freezers are always well furnished with freshly purchased fish, meat and vegetables and have frequent deliveries made of fresh foods like milk etc..
And certainly never skimp on treats !!

In short, I enjoy myself 🤗🤗🤗

Mad, I seem to go in phases, where I'll roast pans of vegetables for weeks and make chilis and dhals packed with spinach, and then all of a sudden, it seems too much at the end of the day, though I can always muster up enough energy to make an omelet and open a can of corn. John and I both cooked, especially when I was keeping very long hours, so I'm not used to being the only cook around the house. I keep powdered greens around for those times, and there's always Greek yogurt and fruit in the house.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.
