A long time ago, when I was using Win7 to play my BF games, I had to give up on one that I really liked because if an action was taken that was not in the "expected" order of actions a player should take, the game crashed.
[ A problem that was not uncommon in those days, more especially in Adventure games, as I quite frequently found out

]
Big Fish were unable to help and offered me another game instead .. which I accepted.
Well, I've never forgotten the "action".
It was to find
and keep a page out of a certain book in a walled bookcase before trying to open a previously untried door into the next room.
I did find the page and read it - but then put it back in the book and the book back into the bookcase - not realising I was supposed to keep it.
And that was the end of that. Because when I tried to open the door the game crashed

Since I moved my BF account to Win10 I've been hoping to "re-find" the game and buy it again but despite looking through the zillions of PC games at BF (in stages, obviously) I've never been able to.
It had "real life" type characters - not in any way cartoony - and I had
thought it contained Black, Deceit or Veil in the title but can't find anything using
any of those words that is the one.
I did discuss it and my problem with it here at Gameboomers but it was so long ago that those posts probably no longer exist.
So I'm posting this message
just in case it might stir a memory in someone. [Which, of course, is highly unlikely
