I think you will be surprised when you do play LOTL - I sure was - given all the negative remarks about the original !! Enjoy it !

I think LOTL would have been a really good game if it was "fixed" when it it first came out. It did get a lot of bad press but I think you will enjoy the remake that much more !

As for Caro Reed - The Final Chapter - Don't miss this one ! I beta tested this game on MAC OS ... so I played the game from a purely technical standpoint. I then played as a regular user and - as I expected - it ranks right up there with the best of them ! MDNA did a great job on this one too !!

I am sure you will all agree ! Enjoy !!

I think most of the negativity about LOTL wasn't about the game per se - it was the fact that all kinds of assets had been plagiarized from other games. The actual game was so eclipsed by that fact that few ended up playing it. I do look forward to playing it now. smile

And I am playing The Final Chapter right now and finding it very enjoyable. The Carol Reed games always deliver - and I have them all! happydance

I’m currently playing Lost Chronicles of Zerzura by Cranberry Productions (Black Mirror II and III). This is an excellent game in every aspect!

I have been hoping for years that GOG would get this game, but so far no luck.

Glad to hear you are enjoying it - I have heard nothing but good things about it. Maybe I'll pick it up on Steam. smile

It’s strange that they don’t have it on GOG, since they have Black Mirror II and III (the only other games from Cranberry).

I also prefer to buy games from GOG. No DRM or additional software that has to run in the background, just like it should be. I couldn’t care less about Steam achievements (although I kind of understand people who ”collect” them).

I have it on CD that I bought from Dave Sparks at InteractCD before he shut down many years ago. I got BM II & III from him also.

Had to do a double take. Uncle Reg and sureshot must be twins LOL!

Mikael, I replayed Zerzura in May 2024 and really enjoyed it. This is what I posted when I started it: "A nice regular point and click adventure!" I really miss these type of games!

I finished the original Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father and am now playing the 20th Anniversary Edition.

I also started playing this cute little game called The Heart of the Teddy Bear. The only problem with it is that it's a platformer which is so not my thing! I have made it to Chapter 2 of 5. We'll see.

Congrats on finishing the game, ob. That's great that you are going to play the anniversary edition as well. I have the anniversary edition installed and ready to play but haven't started it yet.

It's definitely much better being able to see what there is to click on rather than clicking around blindly. I relied very heavily on the walkthrough that Mad sent me for the original game and may still need a walkthrough for the anniversary edition.

Excellent, oldbroad !! I'm so pleased you got to play this wonderful game. It remains one of my utmost favourites, despite the graphics and lengthy conversations 👍

More importantly .... Did you like and enjoy it ????

Let's just say that I'm glad I stuck with it and played it through to the end.
