Good Thursday morning. Nice start to the day, but heading back up to the low 80's this afternoon.
I agree with Judith - I love reading about Dude and Willow. I remember when you first got him - seems so long ago. I'd say WORSE than a couple of kids!
Made good progress in that big daylily bed yesterday. Dug up about 20 big plants which my friend is coming to get Saturday. Replanted six more big plants next to the foundation. Now I just have to find a home for about 15 more big plants. They are called Bela Lugosi and have a really pretty dark purple flower with a yellow throat.
Making a run in town for groceries and then it's league bowling tonight.
When life gives you tomatoes, make Bloody Marys.

Good morning everyone.
It's a cool morning, but sunny. I have my dance class this afternoon, so I'll be reviewing the notes and practising.
I've had Dude for over 41/2 years, which is I/3 of his life. I always wonder if they remember anything of their old lives. It was clear when we adopted him that he had been loved, and it must have been terribly hard for his people to give him up. Apart from the occasional delinquency, he's a very sweet boy.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Oldbroad, I know that Willow remembered John for about six months. Every now and then she would go into his closet because his scent was very strong in there. I put on one of his sweaters at about the six month mark and she raised her head, looked straight into his room, and then I could see her realize he wasn't there any more. For the first three months she would put her face right up to mine and whimper.
I just don't understand people who believe that animals don't have emotions like we do.

Yes. Animals definitely harbour memories - of scents, especially 😍
And, oldbroad, if I found a spider in any of MY shoes I would throw a BIG fit !!!! Agggghhhh ….

Funny. I always take them back outside in the summer. In old house we lived it back in the 80's we had a couple of huge spiders in our bathroom. I used to throw flies at their webs.
At a kid's party years ago, Cimemazoo provided the entertainment and I was the one who, blindfolded, got to hold the tarantulas in my open hands. They're huge but weight nothing, and one of them was very beautiful, with a deep red centre.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I don't mindlessly hate ALL spiders as I know they do a good job in dealing with flies - which I absolutely DO hate. But if either flies or spiders decide to come into my house then it's a different cup of tea entirely and they are signing their own death warrant !!
