It's cold this morning! It rained for some time in the night so once again I can put off the watering. This is odd weather but given that we are at Stage 4 watering restrictions (the highest level) I'm grateful for the break.

Nothing on the agenda for today.

Pretty overcast here today and the skies look like rain on the way. Might be a movie afternoon.

The mention of walnuts brings to mind one of my favourite cakes - of which I must have made hundreds over the years - a Date and Walnut cake.
It uses tea, brewed and then left to go cold.
Totally delicious !!

I just want to let Ana and the others who staff GB to know I appreciate all you do to make GB a safe happy community to be a part of. Good to know Ana that the issue to open GB was not an issue with my internet . I have experienced the issue even though I am always logged in. It is shameful things like this happen.

Good Monday morning. It's awfully quiet in the kitchen this morning... no German news playing! They made it back to Germany about midnight our time and back home to Schweinfurt about 4 am our time.

Gerry, they bot attacks on forums are happening everywhere. I don't understand it because the only goal seems to be chaos.

Good afternoon everyone. Yes Draclvr, their (the) goal is chaos, but thankfully our systems and administrators are resilient! Oh my but the WADDB and bagels were wonderful this morning and got me off in good order for a grocery run. That Date and Walnut cake sounds awesome Mad.

Good Tuesday morning. Temps staying pretty decent for the rest of the week. Your 23 C would be COLD here, Fogfighter! The Germans are sweltering now that they are home. Petra said she read in their newspaper that there have been over 9.000 "extra" deaths caused by the heat in Germany alone.

Still buried under laundry! Starting on all the extra bedding today.

We have elections today, so will head down to the church to vote shortly. Some really important amendments to vote on.

We're having a spell of lovely weather, temperatures around 23-24 degrees. I've been enjoying my back yard, sitting with my book and Willow in my lap. Dude is somewhere in one of his hiding spots in the shade.

"Your 23 C would be COLD here, Fogfighter!" Wrong! That is the warmest I would like it to ever get! Rain is supposed to be moving in here again tomorrow.

Still much too hot (for me, anyway, here in the UK) and despite promises of some substantial showers of rain, only piffling amounts have arrived in my area 🙃
