I want to play 7 the guest again, but for the life of me cannot get it into the computer correctly!!
How do I find out what video, music & speech I have on the computer?

Try using the Beta DirectX Patch t7gwinnv.zip downloadable here

It's easier than trying to sort out your sound card settings on a modern computer.

Thank You Jenny100, I have never done a patch of any sort is there anything I should know before I do this?
ALso Can this patch be put on a Floppy disk for further use?

You can put the patch wherever you like. It is only 202K in size so it will fit on a floppy. Since it is a zip file, you'll need Winzip or another archive program to extract it. Included in the zip is a readme which says:

I have an old version of Winzip on one computer and the Brazip demo version on another.

I'm also having problems. I have download the beta patch, it allows me to get to the point of it asking me to insert disc 2 to start the game, then it freezes everytime?

Have you tried reducing audio and video acceleration?

Jenny100, Well I figured out the problen with 7 th Guest. ! On Our older computer (my sons) it has a S3 video card which is not compatible with 7th Guest!
and I could not get it into my computer because my cd-rom drive went out !
I got a new cd rom drive at the local computer store last night for $20. and we installed it and turned on the computer and it would not load Windows so I called Tech suport and ended up disconnecting the new cd rom and the coputer is fine.! I am going back tomorrow for a replacement drive! So I will retry to instal it when I get the new cdrom drive.!

This may be a dumb question, but did you run the patch after you downloaded it?

not such a dumb question... my nephew came to help and I didn't have the download completely correct. It is now working and I also learned something! Thanks for your patience
