Hello Boomers..

I am 1 hour into game play...Not a bad game if you can get used to the interface..Graphics are superb..Game music is spooky..

So far no glitches..It loaded A-OK on my XP..with Radeon 9200 card.
I am enjoying the story so far..I think most of you will like it..You just have to get used to using the keyboard..
There is no panning...So I am not getting sea-sickness grin

monky

Save often, very often, there are some dead ends in the game and you CAN die.

I did get very dizzy with it, but I found if I changed the default run to walk it made it ever so much better.

Hahaha

With alot of 1st person games I'd think...

Does anyone else need some dramamine to play these games?

Glad I'm not the only one getting sea sick playin those games!

Darleen, do you think it's better because you're not getting sick or do you think the game (story, puzzles, graphics, etc.) itself is better?

Jenny Hi

With the awakened..There was much more panning all over the place. This game you walk ,and then you see your abject in view..without all that panning...Also the graphics are beautiful.
I don't think its too dark...Its very spooky..

Everything about the game is good..I would give this game Two thumbsup thumbsup If it was an point & click I would give it three thumpsup.

I figured it out..Why I am not getting sea-sickness..Its because I can see the guy where he is walking..In awakened you couldn't see yourself..

Just thought I would post this - so gammers are not totally scared away from getting this game.

Many are having problems loading this game-- BUT--- I did NOT have any problems loading or- I and I have just started playing-- have had any problems playing.

I loaded normal. wave

A very strange thing happened to me when I was on my way to.....somewhere - I accidently hit a key on my keyboard, lower left corner I think - but I don't know which one, and 'panning' from somewhere above the scene was possible, not sure now how I got out of it either since I could not walk anywhere in this 'mode'.....anyone else have this experience? Also, a very weird scenario happened to me when I was in the grotto/catacombs....after you have played a bit and if you are curious enough you can read about it in HINTS under BJ's Dead Reefs - may contain spoilers! "shades of Conspiracies and my experiences there"!

I can't remember who stated this- but someone at Hints.
They changed their settings--
on the number pad:
walk forward 8
left 4
right 6

Since mine show not only the numbers but also an arrow keyup-left-right-- this has helped me. now I really only have to remember the others

The keyboard is not bothering me at all now.

Maybe cause three years ago...I got use to playing Tomb Raider games...And that was all keyboard controlled

Betty Lou, the key you pressed is X(default), when you press that it goes to 1st person and you can look around but you cannot move. When you click X and an eye icon appears then that means that there is a place on the screen where an action can/must be performed.

I loved everything about this game. It didn't take very long to get used to the keyboard. I didn't hit any dead ends and I had no problems with loading or playing. I really loved this game. I'm thinking of playing it again. I did need alot of help in the beginning and I got lots of it here. That was the other thing I loved so much. There were several others playing at the time and the help was just so overwhelmingly wonderful and a really good way. I love Gameboomers. Anyway that's my 2 cents.

It is nice to see something positive. I haven't loaded it yet and have been scared to from all I've read.

Oh Ana, it has a great story and graphics. I think the controls aren't difficult, just irritating. Mainly because he walks past doors and steps, and I have to turn him around and try and hit it just right. Come on in!

Is Daead Reef all KEYBOARD control , no mouse. I was really wanting to get the game, but, heard so many probs. with dead ends. Now, Darleen you say it is Keyboard. OH just great. I hate keyboard controlled games cause I'm just to busy fiddling with controls I can neve enjoy the game. So if this is so, I'll pass on it. Darn it. frown

EDIT:
Now, I'm depressed. After reading all the notes here. it sounds totally keyboard control. BOO! HOO! frown frown

I never used the X key, it's function seemed a bit pointless. The TAB key, on the other hand, is a great help.

The x key is sort of like a hint system...When you press it you can see all the points of interest..

Ana...I am almost done with the game...I am now giving this game three snaps..Also on a scale from 1 to 10 I have changed my mind it will get a Big 10

I agree with Darleen - I found the X key very useful.
Once I enter a new screen, I use the X key, look around the room and know where the active spots are located. I don't need to do any pixel hunting.

Just for clarification - there are NO dead ends on this game.
Yes, you can die - so best to save often.
The end game is now corrected by the developers; so that is okay but still there was a given solution to that end puzzle.

dead witch
the first time they entered the witch's hut. No witch, no memory potion...
I can send you a saved game if you like, to see for yourself.

Other people also state, that there is a bug on the clock at Hooke's house.

Some other bugs I found:

Click to reveal..
1. If you use the electric eel on Patrick before you found out about the new body on the beach, 'shore area' opens and there is a murder scene there (continuity error - this area opens prematurely). Later, when you need the Shore area again, in order to find there the boy who gives you the new eel, there is no way to trigger it open again.

2. You talk to the gravedigger on the cemetery the first time and he gives you his keys. Take the keys, go out the door and re-enter his house. The keys are still there and you can take them again!

3. The document 'destroying the demon' appears at your notebook before you solve the pigeons puzzle at Hooke's house. You obtain it prematurely when you get the document 'controlling the demon' at the now unhidden cave where you confront Edward and Hooke
