Thanks. I am one of those that would prefer No timer, so the longer the better for me. I usually finish with lots of time left, but just the fact that there is a timer annoys me puppy

After playing this for 2 days now I have this to add... I love it! If I can't figure out the riddle I go on and sometimes I'll see an object while searching for something else and "bingo" it strikes me that it's what the other riddle was hinting at.

The riddles get harder as you get into the game, but by then you are pretty good at knowing how their riddles work.

I didn't classify this in my mind as a Hidden Object at first because it seemed like the objects weren't really hidden but as you go on with the game... they are harder to find even when you know what you're looking for.

This is a delightful diversion from the norm. I hope more games come out with these delightful twists to hidden object.

Hi there: I just finished trying the game and am definitely going to buy it. I really appreciate all your comments. I love the hidden object games and the riddles really make this different. Happy game playing!

Just finished the game & really enjoyed it.

The riddle idea was very good but by the end of the game I had got fed-up with the 'slowness' i.e you worked out the object & then had to wait while it was 'accepted'if that makes sense - also I found for me the riddles detracted from the beautiful scenes. I loved the story but I think I would have preferred if riddles were going to be used that they came up in a list to the side (instead of a list of objects) rather than the one at a time idea via clicking on the runes - this seemed to dominate & detract from the scenes - too much going on?

I played on the timed option - archaeologist? & found it very forgiving although I did on a couple of occasions get through with only a few minutes to spare!!

Overall it was a fun game well worth buying! smile

In the courtyard... I can't find the dead branches. The clue said look for dead branches near the cat to the right of the scene.... I can't even find the cat, and certainly no branches!

It may be hard to get to it again, but if anyone hasn't gotten to it yet, can you watch for the courtyard and a cat near some dead branches on the right of the scene... It may be an error in the program because it just isn't there.

I was able to find everything else on that level and didn't need it, thank goodness.

I have come across a few rooms that I could consider a courtyard. Can you describe it a bit so I know if I am in the right room? I know I haven't come across the clue yet.

Hi NYLady,

I'm in the High Courtyard, I don't know if there is any others. But the cat in this one is right above the planter with the purple flowers. The only branches are on the tree, which could have some dead ones.

I keep looking. On my second time around.

The riddle was something about not having any roots or leaves and being dead... I guessed a branch but didn't see one so I went for a clue and the clue said to look for branches without leaves near the cat. I didn't even see the cat. Is it a real cat or a statue?

It is called High Court and it is sorta a big terrace with a lot of junk all over.

Yes, it's a real cat, it looks like a siamese with a long black tale. It is on the ledge above the long flower box in the back on the left. The only bare branches I see are on the tree behind the cat. Unless there is another cat somewhere, I'll check.

Good luck.

NYLady,

Can you tell us the complete riddle. Maybe without seeing the screen we can give you some clues.

NYLady, the complete riddle is: My roots having rotted, I've fallen to ground; upon me no branches or leaves may be found. You are looking for a

log on the right of the centaur

If you don't want to check a walkthrough, it's pretty simple to find all the answers in your own computer.

Open up explorer in windows, and look for the folder where forgotten riddles is installed. find the "level" folder, and the grid puzzle answers are in "grid.ini" and the rest of the level's riddles are hidden in their own level.ini's. For example, if I double click on level22.ini,

Click to reveal..

[1]
Rune= We're an ordering of letters and two parts of foxes, signs of kisses and hugs you would find inside boxes
Photo= Etched X's and O's
Hint= Look for a series of crosses and circles, etched onto a gear, in the upper left of the scene
X1=1
X2=199
Y1=1
Y2=157
Px=100
Py=85

Where "Rune" will be the riddle, "photo" will be the picture you're looking for, and "hint" what the game will show when you use a hint. The rest are coordinates of the top left and bottom right corners of the image and the px py the size.

I figured that the only way they could've written a walkthrough was because all the answers were already there and you just had to find it. smile There ARE thousands of riddles - it'd have taken multiple people a week to find them all.

Actually, they only have about 20 per area listed. It didn't seem too farfetched to me.

What a computer guru! Cool. I'll have to wait until I get to the Upper courtyard again and try to find that log. Sometimes things are right under your nose and for some reason you can't see them.

Thanks for your help everyone. Thank goodness I could go on with the game without it.

I love the game but I can only play one set a night for some reason.

That log isn't in the upper courtyard NY. That log is in the area that is sand colored and shows some green. The courtyard is in another area.
Could they be speaking of a tree that is losing branches and leaves?

NYLady - I'm finding that I can only play one or two sets a night, too. Normally, I blow right through games like these in one or two nights. I downloaded it last night and I'm not finished yet. Not sure how close I am to the end. I think it's taking me so long because the riddles make my brain hurt. I'm playing the hard level and they aren't THAT hard but I still have to think about some of them.

Has anyone else run into a situation where a hint gave the wrong hint? It said an object was the the right of something and I was going nuts trying to find it. Then I looked over to the left and there it was, plain as day. duh

I found a "wee" mistake in the game. It asked for the same item twice... with a different riddle. I thought the answer must be wrong since I'd already found that item... but it was the same one again. Can't recall now which item it was.

Ok, I just got to the courtyard for the second time and got the same dead branch riddle. I found the cat (thanks to you all) and the answer is
Click to reveal..
the tree behind the cat, even though it is NOT dead.
Just in case anyone else has this problem. I was looking for a dead tree! No wonder I couldn't find it.

Hi NYLady,

I actually got the same riddle, only it was for another place Cloudy Peaks" and it was a log.

So, they must use the same riddles now and then for other places.
