I have been looking through the microscopes at Belvedere very thouroughly several times and cannot see anything that would trigger response from carol about seeing the 3 green holes. I have retraced my steps back to the leesen fortress to see if I missed anything. I even consulted the walkthrough and I have covered everything at Leesen Fortress that is mentioned in the walkthrough, even the old bike but Nothing happens when I look through the microscope. Do anyone have a save I could use?

Greykitty, HERE is another topic that could help you.

There are so many possibilities on how to play this game that a save is almost impossible to send not knowing what you did.

Have fun.

~~ Greykitty ~~

I assume that you've looked through TWO different telescopes at "The Belvedere" ???

LenG,yes I looked through both telescopes.Chief, after I left the allotment I chose home and picked up the letter from the floor,I explored the rest of the house picked up items for inventory, I went to the apartment, picked up items and then to the library, the skateboard barn, went to see Richard and he was'nt there and then to stina in the store.Went back and talk with Richard, the river park, got the glasses and watch and returned them to Richard, then to the oil mountain, read the note by the mattress, went to the salt field shelter and back home to receive a call from Richard. Visited richard again and receive the torn letter with a riddle. Went back to the oil mountain and entered the golf-course and obtained the golf-course plan, opened the slats up on the mountain and received a white ball with the leesen Fortress written on it. At the leesen fortress, went up the wooden stairway and read the brochure describing leesen fortress history, went up the concrete steps, saw and old bike but could not get the lamp from it went further where carol said this must be the southwest corner and read the writing to look for 3 green holes, zoomed in above the wall and carol says thats the belvedere. Chose to go to the belvedere and look through both microscopes and this is where it ended for me. I could not find the area where the 3 green holes may be after I looked through the second microscope, even though I tried carefully several times. Hope this helps to know where I'am to get a save. Thanks to you both for responding.

Jackie, must say I do not have saves for the game. My game is deleted.

But from reading the link to anothere topic on the subject of the telescopes I sent you, two moves were done:
at the Lessen fortress, in close up, "Look for 3 green holes", the writhing on the wall.
at the Oil Moubtain, did you click on the block building with the grafiti, recognizing it. That's what did that specific player. And then he saw what you are looking for.........

Good luck. Hoping you will get through this part.

Chief

I must have copied your address incorrectly ... the email + attachments returned.

I sent again... this time I only attached one save-game... immediately before looking through the telescope.
It's all you need.
Bring the viewer slowly vertically downwards and youll see the 3 green holes and the magnifying glass cursor.
Left mouse click (once) and Carol will say "That looks like three green holes. It's in Arken's Rosearium".

Please let me know here if you receive the save-game and that it 'works' OK. If not, you may have a faulty CD.

ADDENDUM :-
It's terribly late night (early morning) now in Israel and I'm going to sleep in about ½ hour... if you need any further help on that stuckness!

Greykitty, did you zoom in on the words "look for 3 green holes" at the fortress?

Sorry if I implied that greykitty may have a faulty CD... since I think that that is most unlikely.

This was actually the first thing that came into my mind.

But greykitty said that she had checked it all several times, and in particular said that she had carefully gone over my walkthrough where it states quite categorically :-

***** Look and read the writing on the wall.
***** Zoom in on the writing “Look for 3 Green Holes” (and then zoom out again).

Chief,if you are referring to the building with the inscription SNUFF MVS in white paint. I recognized it,but I could not click on it because the cursor would not show an action to make it possible. Len,I received the save file(thanks)and downloaded it and put it into the game save folder but when I went to launch the game,it did not show up among my other saves when getting ready to load. This is totally confusing,I never had that to happen with a save game.Mikael,I did zoom in on the wrting to "Look for 3 Green Holes".

TWO possible "solutions" :-

(1) When you were 'looking' through the (CORRECT) telescope, you have to left mouse click the left arrow at the left edge of your monitor which takes you to a new (2nd) view/screen.
I wonder whether you missed that ??

(2) Due to all sorts of saves for beta testing purposes, the save that I sent you was my very last one and entitled save087.dsv
In order for you to see & use it please do the following :-

[A] Look at your file of saves.

[B] Note your latest save ... e.g. suppose it is save019.dsv.

[C] Rename the save I sent you to the number following your latest i.e. to save020.dsv.

........... and Bob's your uncle... you should access the save in your load panel in its correct position!! bravo !!

Many sincere thanks for correcting my writing the one word "terrific" in capitals.

I must really watch my p's and q's !
Never mind, I'm only 82½+ ... still time to mend my ways!

Apologies!

Age doesn't matter Len, attitude and following the rules does though.

Extremely sorry, but I was brought up (in polite England) and instilled, amongst things, with the tenet that age does matter and that one is polite and forgiving to people much older than oneself... unless of course they behave quite shockingly.
I certainly know a good deal about generation gaps ... seems that things have changed !!

My 3 children and 11 grandchildren are all said to be extremely polite to everybody... even when they don't necessarily agree with them.

Quote:
~~ Texaslady ~~... following the rules does though.

I have been a member of GameBoomers almost since its inception, maybe 8 years ago.
I have never read through the rules which I seem to remember seeing somewhere.
I thought that that was unnecessary, since I have had no desire to break any of the obvious ones ... nor have I to my knowledge.

Seems howevever that I was mistaken, and writing the single word "terrific" in upper case is an infringement and contravention of the rules.

I would be most obliged if you would post me here a link to the official rules, so that I can add them to my copy of this thread and ensure that I do not break any further rules.

Thanking you greatly in advance.

Len,

What Sue is referring to is netiquette that is in the Registration rules that is agreed upon when a member registers.
Also found at the FAQ at top right of the frame is a short rules of conduct of the forum.

Here at GameBoomers we treat everyone (or we try very hard to) all the same regardless of age, nationality, gender or the length of stay here in GameBoomers. We try to be fair to everyone.

Hope that clears this up and we can get back to helping members in need of help on East Side Story.

Many thanks for your explanation MaG and for your reference to the GB FAQ which I have now read through completely... and was probably what I had forgortten as being the GB "rules".

However, I looked extremely carefully for any reference whatsoever to "Capitals", "Upper Case" or anything similar.

Please correct me if I'm wrong :-
I find it extremely difficult to believe that there is not one other single case in the GB Forums &/or Archives, where some member has not written a sinle word like "TERRIFIC" in praise of somebody or something and certainly not "shouting" (whatever that implies), and yet not been scolded and chastised as one does a young child, giving the impression of some form of discrimination !

I have always apologised sincerely whenever I've made a mistake (as every single human being does), or when I've inadvertently insulted or disparaged somebody. I don't think that would be remiss !

Yes .... let's truly get back to helping people with all stucknesses in "East Side Story" and not sheer petty criticisms.

I will not hijack this thread anymore than necessary Len.

The complete registration rules appears when you register and agree on. The one that is in the FAQ is the shortened version only.

I will continue this discussion about your "impression of some form of discrimination" in an e-mail rather than on the board.

I see that you edited your posting to add in bold'.
