Bets, the name in the upper left SHOULD be Sillia. That is the name of the fairy you will fight at the trainers. Actually if you turn all the way around, you can see yourself on the other side of the platform!

OK. I went to the game I started so I could keep up with you. I took the Nature fairy (my Sillia) and immediately trained her up to level 10. Then I went into the Fairy Garden, fought a couple of level 3 Vesbats and finally got a Worgot. I captured him and went back to the trainer in Endeva. I opened up my character screen (I've programmed mine to be "e") and moved him into slot 1 and my Sillia into slot 2. Then I fought with the Sillia the trainer has (who doesn't shoot at you, so you can't die) and won the first fight which leveled him up to a 9. I have to hold down my left mouse button to power up a decent shot about 4 seconds. I only got 2 or 3 points per hit and it took quite a few hits to defeat her.

I'm wondering if you aren't watching the health meter of the opponent fairy?? It is at the top of the screen. When it runs out, you win the fairy fight. Your stats are the two bars on the bottom. The left/green one is your recharge for using flying and the right/red one is your mana.

I didn't have much luck with using the scroll wheel to switch fairies. I think I would get too excited during a fight and would scroll right past the one I wanted! I programmed my numbers 1 - 5 for the different fairy slots and then switched them by hitting another number.

I am looking at the lower health meter and I only got Sillia up to a level 12. But the red health meter drops to half when I start training. I put Sillia in the first slot and that is what happens. I am opening the object screen. Is that the right one? I can swap them back and forth in there.

Bets

And I misspoke. The red one isn't mana, it's your health meter. The mana is numbers next to your active and passive spells which are the squares in the corner. If you hit F1, it has a bunch of screens which shows you what everything is. Every time you get shot, the health meter (red one) will drop. If it goes all the way down, your fairy will need to be reanimated with the herbs. I let my Worgot get down to almost nothing and then I finished off the other fairy. In the very next fight, it was back up to 100%.

I think it is called the object screen. You should be able to check on how much mana your fairies have there.

I'd go back to the trainer where you can level your Sillia up to about 15 before you take on any wild fairies until you get the hang of this. You can't die with the Sillia you fight at the trainers because she doesn't shoot at you.

I tried that. If I bring up Sillia at level 12, I only have half health. I think I may have screwed something up/

This is very strange Flutist. You can not die training with the little fella in Endeva...not unless you hold your mouse down too long.

Before going into a fight...here's a cheat for the game....

I am also puzzled by this. The health regenerates back to full after you win a fight. I would also try the cheat burpee mentions. Have you tried starting a new game to see if the same thing happens? Does your Worgot also only have half the red bar?

OK. I just figured it out. Bets, you aren't doing anything wrong; we were all just being brain dead! I just traded the silver sphere for Tadana with the lady fairy.

I went ahead and let her get defeated and then reanimated her. Of course, when you reanimate you only get PART of your stats back! You need to feed your fairy a Healing Potion! You should have gotten some from an elf along the way.

I'm totally smacking my forehead on the one. Sheesh!

Oh yeah, healing herbs, I think I should buy stock in those as I am always killing off my fairies. For later on, don't forget medicine when they are poisoned, burned, frozen or whatever else. I tend to forget these and wonder why my fairies are soooo sluggish.

I think I am just going to start a new game. I can't get anywhere and it is very frustrating.

I'm sorry it's been so frustrating. I wish I could better understand exactly what you need to make this fun for you.

I've forgotten the mechanics of the game, and I haven't been able to find it to re-install. I think you press and hold the right mouse button. Someone please step in and correct me if that is wrong!
The first time I played the game, I didn't fly at all and finished it. rotfl

Got your PM. and I understand all of that. I went back and started a new game. So far I have Sillia up to a level 13. Do I need to get her higher then that before I go into the fairy garden?

That should be fine. 10-ish would probably be the minimum where you could be effective.

Nickie, you keep clicking the right mouse button, to flap your wings. Beware though you can fall if you run out of energy, I think it is the green bar.

I have the F key on my gamepad to fly. I think it works the same as the right mouse. When I first started I would just hold the key down. But you have to repeatedly click to get your fairy to fly. The more clicks, the higher you go! Sometime after winning a fight I will fly as high as I can get just to look around at the scenery!

Yay, Bets! Did your red health meter go back up to 100%? I wondered if your were doing something that didn't actually get that health potion to your fairy because you mentioned you had tried that. My apologies if you've already figured this out, but you left click on the health potion, drag it over to the picture of the fairy you want to give it to and left click again to "feed" the fairy.

I'll wait in the game I started to keep up with you because even though I've played the game 4 times, I still forget how things work...

I also found out a curious fact when I was sorting through Zanzarah information. Because of copyright protection, there is something weird that sometimes makes an error occur (where you can lose those training fights against the unarmed fairy) when you don't have the disc in the drive (the game will play without it being in the drive).

Hmmm... that's curious, nickie. I might try playing without the game in the drive and see what happens.

I just tried, it won't let me play with a cd in the drive, it asks for it.

One other thing though, don't know if Bets uses the cheat console, but it won't work on autorun, you have to exit out and use the shortcut to launch the game.
