Hi Guys...... I really put a lot of thought into <What would be the worst game> I have to say ...I cannot put any Label on the worst game.. Why.....Well...Every game I bought was worth the time & money to get it..Just because I didn't like certain things...Did not make it a bad game...So I can not in all honesty say one game is bad..

I guess my nominations would be Leather Goddesses of Phobos - barbarosso, I agree with you. I'm ashamed to say I still have a copy of LGOP2 lying around somewhere, though. And I've played Barth the alien. Sad.

reikidave, hi, Sorry to all TMoS fans: the game's premise was great, but I had terrible trouble getting it to work - a 241mb patch solved the problem. Now I'm certain you've got two German game developers mixed up! The game that needed the huge 241MB patch was *Secret Files: Tunguska*, by German developers Fusionsphere Systems/Animation Arts. The Moment of Silence, by German developers House of Tales, only had a *630KB* v1.01 patch. I reviewed TMoS for Quandary, and IMO it was one of the better adventures of recent years. I've been reviewing adventure and role-playing games (and writing comprehensive guides) for over 10 years now, and don't think I'm that far off base:http://www.quandaryland.com/jsp/dispArticle.jsp?index=675 Of course, one person's meat is another person's poison... but I'm convinced you have two games mixed up here :-\ Regards, MetzO'Magic

I would have trouble saying what is a "worst game" but so many listed as bad I actually loved, like Frankenstein, Moment of Silence, Mystery of the Druids and even Paradise with all the bugs I was able to complete. If I can complete a game I consider it a good game.
With that in mind there are not many I haven't completed and TimeLapse and Broken Sword 3 are among them. Mystery of the Nautilus is just too much trouble to get it to play so I would put it in my worst game lump.

That is just MHO.

Hi, reikidave!
I can't decide which one was worse between "Conspiracies" and "Missing Since January", so I'll list them both.

TMoS is one of my favorite games, but I guess differing opinions is what makes life interesting <G>!

Now I'm certain you've got two German game developers mixed up - you're correct, metzomagic - it was Tunguska. Mind you, my opinion still stands about TMoS. My UK copy also came with Starforce copy protection. Now that is a nasty bit of coding - whatever game I have played which had it has caused my computer to go Blue Screen of Death, even with updated Starforce drivers. Your point about "meat and poison" is good - I have played Fahrenheit 4 or 5 times, yet I know people who loathe the "Simon Says" controls. At the end of of the day, there aren't really any "best" games, nor any "worst" (I offer as proof the man I spotted in our local gaming store buying Leisure Suit Larry 7 - indeed, it takes all sorts). This thread was really intended to get a discussion going about what people like or don't like in adventure games. Plato summed it up well: What is good, Phaedrus, and what is not good? Do we need anyone to tell us this?. That's not an exact quote, but close enough. Happy gaming, reikidave

The US version of Moment of Silence did not have any copy "protection." That was one BIG advantage of the US version. If only there was a PC version of Still Life that didn't have S***Force. I was forced to play Still Life on XBox, which wasn't bad, but I'd have liked it on PC as well.

Yes Haze I started this one and found moving stuff with the mouse off putting .As you said very dull and I found my self getting depressed lol .I think all in all the older games even though the grafics were nt as good the story lines were beter .New games some times have good story lines but it as all been done befor .Though I must admit Blackwell Legacy was differant but now we have ghost story games every where .Its like watching a soap some times .Some one comes out with an idea and every one else seems to follow lol

I've never met an adventure game that I could call "horrible." Thank goodness.
To tell the truth, I liked Larry until Larry 8, which isn't an adventure game at all. (It used to be witty and ironic and lewd. Larry 8 was JUST lewd.)

There's a best/worst of everything in every adventure game. After all, nobody's perfect (except perhaps April Ryan). For example:

Sherlock Holmes: Silver Earring. Came for the adventure and great story and left for the timed mazes in the forest.
7th Guest: Came for the puzzles and left for the maze.
ND ghost dog: came for the story and got lost in the forest
(ok I'm beginning to see a pattern here)

If it doesn't have a maze, I'll love it!

Seriously - it all comes down to likes and dislikes and personal weaknesses. If you're not a listener you'd be turned off by Culpa Innata, if you're half blind (I play hidden object games with photoshop on alt-tab) like me you wouldn't like Wintersonne, and if you get lost all the time like Ryoga in the Ranma 1/2 series then 1st person adventures without a map is not for you.

I find that adventure games are usually made by people who love the genre, wants to tell a good story, and they work hard at making something beautiful. I can't say the same for all FPS's or all RPGs but adventure games are always a labor of love, even if they're not perfect, and that's why I love them right back!

I couldn't get along with the Martin Mystere game. Looked so promising but I disliked the characters a lot and just sold the game after playing it through. I just couldn't click with it, much like my reaction to Barrow Hill, which I didn't even complete.

Moment of Silence was the worst game I played,I kept trying to play it why I don't know finally gave up on it!!
I may not have gone where I intended to go,but I think I have ended up where I need to be.

...not to labor the point, I do believe 'one mans trash, is another's treasure'...and there are so many saying here that they hated Conspiracies! It is one of my favorite games, made me laugh so hard not only because a 'bra bomb' struck me as fuuuuunnnnnnnnnny, but hanging off a lightpole and falling off - not landing ON the pavement below but landing BELOW it and looking up at the building and the sky.....my sides hurt from laughing so hard! I did and do enjoy that one, have replayed it more than once and it is on my keeper shelf. Love, Betty Lou
