Ok, it looks like I am just at the beginning of the Darkmere shuffle. There have been 2 bodies so far, I have charcoal etc., but can't find anything to trace. I started out in the Inn but now it along with everything but the BriBrac shop is locked.I'm looking for anything that I can interact with and keys, apparently. Can anybody get me on the move again?

Well I'm just starting Chapter 1 after MaG helped my get through the Prologue. I don't know how to open the iron gate...I think I collected everything I was supposed to get and I can't go anywhere but through the gate it seems but I don't know how to do that. I only met the Welcome guy and got my welcome gift I just don't know what else to do or how to get through the gate? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I'm a little too dense to play this?

gaily, have you looked close at the footsteps and have you seen anything like it anywhere else? There is a LOT of wandering Darkmere, over and over to the same spots to find things that may have changed.

SlyOne, do you have an iron bar and a ships wheel (I think that's what it was) if you do see if you can combine them and if you can't get them to fit somewhere.

EDIT: Gaily, do you keep checking your maps for locations opening up to you?

Yes, Thanks Ana...I have discovered what you mean. New places on the list are coming open: ...much wandering....but I am not picking up nearly as many things as you did, at least so far.

Sly One, have you wandered to the left yet when you face the coffin? Have you found any beasties? You will find the iron bar there.

gaily, you will find them, but you really will need to wander back and forth to the same places over and over. Personally I found it exhaustive.

Hello Anyone...I am still trying to find the iron bar so that I can open the iron gate in Chapter One. Ana you said it's over to the left when I stand in front of the coffin. I'm guessing you mean where the rotten floor boards are? I can't find it there....can you give me a little hint as to where to look for it. I have tried all over that area and I can't find it. Sorry for being a pain....but I would like to move on. Thanks
One more thing? What are beasties. Haven't found any of them. Is there another area that I can access that I haven't found? I can only go to the left and down the stairs and to the right as far as the other coffin, I thought?

What do you have in your inventory SlyOne? You will need to get across the floorboard to get the bar and see the beasties. Have you found a coffin lid yet?

Inventory: Seal of Suff, Note, cookbook, lit torch,Keeper's welcome,whistle,eye patch,ship's wheel,naval hat, bone, choloform,glass eye. That's it. Where is coffin lid? Can't find that either. Again Ana, I appreciate your help so much.

Okeedokee...The coffin lid that you need to progress is located in the foyer/walkway between the last level and this level. If you go right from the coffins you should see it.

Sly One, The coffin lid is outside of the very first doorway as you approach this level. Before you meet the Keeper...before the coffin room.Hope this helps.

I'm back....I thought if I shut it down and waited a day, I'd find something but that is not to be.

I am in Chapter 4: The Machine and I really haven't found a thing to do. I picked up a fuse wire and I have a map and that is all. I have seen the train, the metal door is locked and the fuse box doesn't have any action on it when you open it up. Any help appreciated.

Thanks gaily, I read the whole other thread and none of it helps me. I think I am missing somewhere to go. I walked around the platform and I can't find anything to do. I went downstairs to the train and there is nothing there. The only thing I found is a wire on the stairs. Any other suggestions?

Hi Ana,

You should see some fuse wire at the start of this level which you can use in conjunction with the fuse box. Hope this helps? You do need to scroll the inventory to find the fuse wire etc.

Thanks TC, I did find the wire, but when I use the "look" on the fuse box I get nothing active to use the wire on. I have gone back and forth with the curser on the fuse box with and without a closeup and no joy. I figured that is where it would go, but I am blind to it.
