Problems with making Luigi's mark on door. I have the coloured scarf and knife in my inventory but don't know how to combine. I have placed one the other, then reversed, knife over scarf, scarf over knife but nothing happens. The mechanisms is there but nothing happens.

Would really appreciate any tips.

Gemini I don't remember Holmes making an actual mark. I remember him having knife and scarf in his hand, I remember clicking on the door with it in his hand and that was all I had to do.

Just a reminder - the scarf you need is the scarf of the drunken man on the table; not the one on the bar. It will combine automatically with the knife in inventory.
